The justification for the price mainly is the dedicated multiplayer support and expansion on multiplayer modes. Right now there are pretty much only servers for multiplayer on the originals but this new version from what I have heard will support multiplayer for almost all of the game modes. That’s huge

Agreed, that and if they can update/improve the gamepad support, that'd be a big selling point for me. I have the original steam versions and using the Xbox 360 controller was really clunky, menu navigation was bad since the joystick simulates mouse movement if I remember correctly. If it can just work properly out of the box similar to the original Xbox version that'd streamline things a lot, especially when playing on Steam Deck.

There is also new content, ported content between the games, an entire MODERN online client, sound files, etc.. I would agree that they could do better with compressing said files, but games aren't small anymore, especially not when they have to be updated from an engine that had no intention of being used beyond those releases.

FUCK Aspyr! Their Switch version of KOTOR had a game breaking glitch for KOTOR 1 where the Korriban puzzle room was unable to be completed due to dialogue error. YEARS of people reporting it. Their fix? "Oh, open cheat menu and cheat", we wont fix it via patch. Cheats didn't fix it either, just told people there was a cheat menu. My save is still stuck in that puzzle room.

Honestly I would get the game for the online play, mainly because they shut down the servers when they made it backwards compatible for Xbox One. I do have a copy of Battlefront 2 on steam, to try and do multiplayer with my friends, but we have been having problems with our private matches crashing mid match. And I have downloaded mods for battlefront 2, though I make sure to verify it is a safe site

50 GB is insane. Im honestly kinda getting sick of this trend where devs give no fucks in correctly compressing their textures so the game stays a reasonable size. Like these are not 4K textures, they are upscaled PS2 assets. The entirety of Baldurs Gate 3 is 150 GB, Elden Ring is 60 GB. A Battlefront remaster collection has 0 excuse to take up this much space. I would have preferred this Collection be $20. As far as $35 goes, I would be much more willing to 'bite' at full price if they included fully restored/revived Battlefront: Renegade and Elite Squadron games. As far as the storage goes, it's still ridiculous that it's 4x the size of the original games. I constantly hear the argument of "Hurrr storage is so cheap these days, it doesn't matter!" as if everyone 1) has the money to dump on a new hard drive for more storage, 2) has the available ports or space to add another hard drive, and 3) can realistically justify spending on a new hard drive just for one game. This is in reference to people running on limited sub-1TB SSDs or HDDs, such as people with laptops or old/low-budget PCs. Hell, even the consoles. Plus, for those with slow internet, or limited internet, this is gonna be a bit of a hard sell due to the slow AF download speed to begin with for such a large game/bundle.

I really think all these “issues” are being blown out of proportion in classic internet fashion. The price is not that much, the file size is a non issue and the mod part can be patched in. Not really. I think the thing everybody wanted is for both games to be in a single "package" just like in DICE's Battlefront II, in which you can just hop in any era, be it Clone Wars or Galactic Civil War. With Classic Battlefront you would have to switch games for that, which is a big problem, since the second entry has a bigger player count and the gameplay is much different. We just need the game to unite both playerbases, and, I hope, this Remastered will do it. I would say even the graphical improvements are not really needed, - original graphics hold very well today and you can't go beyond simple textures upscaling to make a complete overhaul without creating a complete remake.

@amefan6030 Off the top of my head, every port before KotOR has a broken aspect ratio. Republic Commando has unplayable performance on Switch and buggy AI. KotOR battle chatter was removed, the UI was ported over directly from the mobile version, and they added a game-breaking bug. KotOR 2's TSLRCM was never brought to any version (this was the primary reason anyone bought this release), they're currently being sued over it. Let's just say this isn't the first time they've stolen a modder's work without their permission. Plus they added in several game-breaking bugs that took nearly a year to patch. Need I go on? The TFU port was actually solid though. A blind squirrel, am I right?

I just hope the modding community will be active for this game, they had crazy mods for Star Wars battlefront, there was a halo mod which changed everything to halo themed, the guns, the ships and vehicles
