I saw the Beach Boys in Fort Wayne Indiana in the summer of 1964. Brian Wilson was still playing bass with them and they were great. Their opening acts were The Kingsmen and Eddie Hodges.

I'm sorry but 😔 they shouldn't even be allowed to be called "The Beach Boys" the only originals up there now are Mike Love (who no longer has the charisma & voice power as he had back in the day) & Bruce Johnston. John Stamos tries to hog stage all the time 🙄 like it's all about him. No one could ever sing "God only knows" like the angelic voice of Carl Wilson. John Stamos doesn’t hold a candle to the powerful drumming like Dennis Wilson RIP Dennis Wilson 🙏🕊🕯 RIP Carl Wilson 🙏🕊🕯

Brian is not allowed to tour with Mike and Bruce due to his management's greediness which also estranges him from speaking to the other bandmates. Besides as much as the band still tours his health conditions couldn't keep up with it.

To me it's not the Beach Boys anymore Mike Love might have had the right to call his band the Beach Boys and to play the early hits but nothing compare with Brian, Carl, Al, Bruce's harmonies plus the horrible nasal weak voice from Mike Love even if he has new members who are trying to imitate it is just a pale copy and they dare put a picture of Carl in the background what a shame !

@@travis8665 but his constant supply of incredible hit after hit made the Beach Boys. Without his brilliance there would be no old hits for anyone to play. I remember the Beach Boys from the first time round and the utter magic of hearing songs kind "God only knows" back then was game changing. I suggest you view the videos of Brian working in the studio with "the wrecking crew" and you'll get an idea of his true contribution to the band. The wonderful Beach Boys should be left in the past and cherished. This travesty is embarrassing 😎👍

The only way that song should be preformed is the way it was done on the anniversary tour with Carl on video singing God Only Knows, All and Matt Jardine do a much better Beach Boys performance than this over staged tribute band.

It's one thing to have backup musicians who can play the right rhythms and melodies per each song's composition. But the harmonies can never be replicated because no two or more people have exactly the same voices. These harmonies here blow.

Al Jardine and Brian Wilson still don’t want Mike to go on the road with his own band under The Beach Boys banner, but Mike doesn’t care about his two surviving former bandmates and fellow original Beach Boys one bit. And plus, he only co-wrote some of the Beach Boys’ songs, so he doesn’t own the full rights to any of the band’s tunes either.

Mike Love doesn't have it. He should just retire and call it a day. Brian on the other hand, in my opinion, can go on performing for as long as he wants. The man wrote some of the most beautiful songs ever penned, and is very humble. His voice falters at times, but he went through so much for the band, so I give him that. I just don't think Mike Love is that good.

@@richbailey8174 It is true this lineup will never achieve the distinctive BB vocal blend that was really last heard at the 50 year reunion concert. I can say that the new drummer (whom I discovered and placed in his first band 25 years ago) will really energize this group and add some great leads and much needed harmonies. The new guitarist is an amazing player with a great tone. I have really only been following the group for the last 2 months since Bolty was added but it seems many fans are out of sorts that the 2 members were released after some 20 years with the band and that's understandable. My point is that many since this development are calling this lineup illegitimate whereas they did not refer to the last 20 or however many years since the Mike Love-Brian Wilson split as illegitimate when by their own criteria they should of characterized it as such all along. I would compromise and suggest they name this group 'Mike Love's Beach Boys' or some such to appease folks such as yourself. There are many many old groups who tour with only one or sometimes no original members but they have rights to the name. As long as the music is performed authentically with passion and precision with dedication to authenticity I will be happy.

No one can replace Mike's voice which hasn't aged at all, and besides Brian turned down the offer to accept The Beach Boys name to himself back in 1999. Everyone needs to know their facts before you jump online and complain. There is no other story of a music group as warped as with The Beach Boys. Stop hating.

They were pretty good in fact great with an occasional appearance by John Stamos. Now without Scott on guitar and John Cowsill . ...Mike is losing it,...like the Yankees....don't know them any more...they are not great anymore
