OMG wow!!! I'd personally like to say I adore these lyrics. They are exactly what I always wanted to say when I try to write a love song. Also, The Like in I Love You is a serious contender for my wedding song (if I ever get so lucky).
@scottbennett944129 күн бұрын
@ I'd be honored. BTW, I came up with the pain in painting, the muse in music, but my wife came up with The Like in I Love You as well as after I did the Beatles nod of Gliding in a starless sky , 'til we found the inner light, she chimed in with - now, we can duplicate the universe, which is a hard one to explain, but it seemed to work in the context of finding your better halk.

@AlexDeLarge111 ай бұрын
@@TomWardleMusic I disagree that it's superior to Brian's version. That whole album is great. I love Brian's current voice though. Lucky Old Sun is also one of my favorites. I think that was him at his best vocally in recent years.
@TomWardleMusic11 ай бұрын
@@AlexDeLarge1 Lucky Old Sun was the album that made me move to America. I now work a lot with Scott, who co-wrote it with Brian.
@AlexDeLarge111 ай бұрын
@@TomWardleMusic I'm glad someone else appreciates it. I feel like it's way underrated, even by fans of Brian. I feel like it gets written off as lame but it's some of his best songs since the Love You days easily. And he even sings falsetto on Forever She'll Be My Surfer Girl. Love that song.
@timsmusicstuff10 ай бұрын
Yeah the early 70s Brian falsetto is one my favorites. It's a bit much for a full on lead for an entire song, like in Awake (although I still love it), but having it chime in here and there like in Dae Lims's interpretation of this song is extremely charming. I think my favorite era of his voice is 1968, which was right when his voice was between his mid 60s charm and the 70s squeaky falsetto.

Apparently this is from Brian’s solo album: Gershwin Reimagined but I guess it’s an original song just inspired by Gershwin? Maybe someone else can confirm this since the rest of the album seems to be covers

One of my favorites! Also, it's interesting that this is technically a George Gershwin, Brian Wilson, & Scott Bennett composition (although Gershwin was not alive when the "collaboration" happened, obviously). Their styles mix well though in my opinion.
@danielfleming963011 ай бұрын
Can you explain how this happened? Was this some unfinished Gershwin song that Brian finished or something?
@DreamWolfPics11 ай бұрын
@@danielfleming9630 That is correct. Here's an explanation from Wikipedia. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brian_Wilson_Reimagines_Gershwin "In addition to the covers, the Gershwin estate granted Wilson access to over 100 unfinished Gershwin songs and fragments for the project to use for new material. Two songs were completed by Wilson and Scott Bennett (who provided lyrics) mainly based on two fragments: 'Will You Remember Me,' which was originally written in 1924 for the musical 'Lady, Be Good,' was completed as 'The Like in I Love You,' while 'Say My Say,' which was unfinished by the Gershwin brothers in 1929, was completed as 'Nothing But Love.'"
