Do you ever get a beachgoer who freaks out because you got too close to their family & belongings? I never hunt when it's crowded & try to stay 50' away from people & their laid-out stuff. So far so good on the confrontations - NONE. But then again, you found more jewelry in 1 hunt than I have in 24 hunts year-to-date.

Nice day for you. Seems like you got a bit of jewelry. I’m sure the reason that bracelet and ring were right next to each other was because they took all their jewelry and put together before getting in the water and left forgetting it. I managed to get a 10k ring the other day which was fun.

Jim, nice video. My Nox 800 has been picking up a lot of EMI at Huntington State Beach, all up and down the state beach, particularly around the firepits. It lasts from 1-5 minutes and then subsides. This trend started 4th of July and is annoying. I don't know if it's broken or the interference is coming form the power plant, the lifeguard HQ, electric bikes, police communications, or if someone's aiming a jamming device at the beach. It's not consistent. I'm on the verge of sending my Nox in for repairs. I'm wondering if you've had this experience or have any advice. Help appreciated.

EMI has always been an issue near the power station area, I just step up or down the frequencies manually just to keep moving. Then you also have iron rich soils in that area that can make it seam like EMI but it isn't so you will need also adjust sensitivity as needed.

after 39 years of experience it is about knowing when and where to go, in the wet sands I study currents and swells helping me figure out locations of possible cuts or shore breaks with strength that can push items upon the beach. Also knowing the beaches in my area, I know where most people hang out, what hotels bring the most tourists, etc... But just like in this video I detected for 7.5 hours covering a lot of ground. One of the biggest things I see people do wrong is they do not wear headphones so the miss subtle tones and they just go to the beach to metal detect and not research the beach prior too! I stopped by and said hi to the west coasters hunt, I was testing out a new e-bike and noticed that there were two club hunts going on. Always great to see like minded enthusiasts on the beach. I was really impressed by the Route 66 club and how they really had a good mix of people detecting, included young kids that were doing a great job of detecting. Thank you !
