The son was killed first. Steven. His dad Levi grabbed shotgun from behind drivers seat as one Dogman was eating his son alive, Levi shot the Dogman with Steven still in tye dogmans arms, accidentally shooting both the Dogman and his son's head with the spread of the shotguns shot, but Steven was believed to have already been dead at that point. Dogman rushed Levi, broke levis neck,and ran around the RV passing in front of the side entry door, where Roger fired a .410 bore shot at the already injured Dogman, knocking it down, but immediately got up and kept running past the RV, later being found up in a tree where it bled to death from tye two shotgun hits it endured from Levi and Roger. Roger stepped out of the RV, in a panic and hid beneath the RV up inside it's framework, thinking Diana and lil Connie were following en suite, as a second dogman was coming thru back window. But the girls didn't follow Roger out. And Roger had to suffer listening to them both being consumed and silenced by the second dogman. Second dogman ran off, Roger mustered his courage for about 15 minutes, and ran like a bat outta hell towards the nearest road where he waved down a farmer in a truck, who drove Roger to safety and alerted authorities. THATS how that tragedy happened. And outta respect for the dead, I find it proper to get the facts straight,good sirs. God bless and be careful out there.

So few comments on such a tragic story! I just watched a documentary on this story. The guy telling the story hid while the people were attacked. He also said, that the girl in the tree is not true. Scary, no doubt. The man went on to say, that it was the creature found in the tree.😢😢

@@Pastamist Yes. And, these beasts wouldn't stowe a body in a tree. There is some indication that they will bury a carcass to age the meat for consumption, but not hang it in a tree for another predator to feast upon.

I can’t see a dogman, a similar creature, climbing trees to store prey in a distinctly feline manner, like a leopard, out of favor for burial. I’m glad someone else knows the truth of the story.

Well, I DO know for a fact that a cadaver dog signalled on the EXACT tree where her body was supposed to have been found. The dog handler was NOT told which tree it was prior to the search by the dog. My friend was there that day they brought the cadaver dog in, so she witnessed the whole thing.

Just like to point something out, you said the cadaver dog went to the tree that the girl was supposedly in. But these murders happened in the 80s, I think it's silly to think a dog could smell a body that was there 50 years ago.

It’s not a body that the dog smells it’s actually decomposing bacteria that is present when a body is deceased. And it was the creature that was found in the tree not the girl.

For once, I'm with you. If they killed a Dogman, then why in 1982, for heaven's sake, were no photos taken of the corpse? Why didn't televised news cover it? It would have made headlines, believe me. And don't give me the argument of 'it's to preserve tourism attraction,' haha! There are places in the US that are 100% more interesting for tourism, so the argument of concealing to preserve tourism makes me laugh softly. Dogmen tearing humans apart - a man, a woman, two children - and no photos, no autopsy, no report, nothing. But hey, it would make a great movie though.

I listened to the sole survivor and if he’s just been making it up then he really should get a job as an actor on tv as he sounded like when he was telling you about it he was going through it sounded very very convincing lots of things sounded like he was telling the truth even as he started running towards the end of the road saying he was running and remembered seeing it getting dark he said times everything and you could hear in his voice remembering it was horrible he also didn’t like people dramatising like the father was all mauled up lost an arm I think he said he didn’t loose an arm he wasn’t obviously looking great but wasn’t as mauled up as people were saying likewise the mother inside so I totally believe him

A bear, what? Killed the family? Not very likely... black bears almost always vacate the area before humans even know they are there. According to the story(I personally talked to a man who spoke with law enforcement who worked the crime scene), the father & son were killed outside the rv, the mother locked the door with her daughter inside. The creature broke in, killed the mother & the daughter's body was found up in a tree. Doesn't sound like any bear attack I have heard about.

I grew up in the woods and the mountains. I've encountered bears in the wild. Never had single one try anything remotely hostile towards me. Hell most seem to scurry off as soon as they noticed I was there. I read about the massacre, and it doesn't sound like any bear attack that I can ever heard of.
