Thanks for this update Larry, again loving your choices. Revolver will always be my favourite Beatles album, No 1 in my trilogy of faves which include Rubber Soul and Sgt Pepper. I do love the 2023 editions of the Red and the Blue, and they are the copies I play now, but still have a lot of affection for my copies from the 1970's that I still have that were given me by my parents on my Birthday (red) and Christmas (blue) in '76. Beatles For Sale is one I play a lot more now than I used to, but when you play the BBC albums there are better covers on there that they could've recorded for this album. But it is what the Fabs wanted to put out, so I just enjoy it for what it is, a great little Beatles album. Finally got hold of the Eight Days A Week album of the Hollywood Bowl shows a couple of weeks ago on vinyl and that sounds infinitely better than my CD. Just that much louder and with less compression on the mix. Thank you so much for this video Larry, it has been a lot of fun and has now inspired me to pull some of these albums out and give them a spin this afternoon....

Nice tier list! Things I would change for my taste: Love album to S tier. I have a huge appreciation for this album as a musician. It has inspired me a lot, and I find it to be a masterpiece. Let It Be to S tier. The Get Back documentary made me appreciate it more than ever. Also, I would move Past Masters, Blue and Red and 1 to the bottom of the S tier as they are not official Beatles albums and I just have a higher appreciation for official ones. Agree about the white album being number one. Although, I admit I'd put all of the studio albums in S tier with the exception of Yellow Submarine. And Beatles For Sale might be my second favorite of them all

A good ranking , and we agree on a number of placements . I must insist , however , on using the US version of Rubber Soul . I grew up listening to that version , and I have to have it ! Here's my ranking ( as of today , anyway ) S : Rubber Soul ( US version ) , Abbey Road , A Hard Day's Night , White Album , Past Masters , Revolver A : Sgt. Nice touch including the Anthology and Past Masters albums. Interesting to see how you handled those and some of the other albums that came after the band broke up. My S tier albums would have been 1. Sergeant Pepper, 2. Abbey Road, 3. White Album, 4. Revolver and 5. Rubber Soul. But I love all of ‘em.

Great list! Controversial opinion, I love “A Hard Days nights” more than white album because it has better songs, production, and it doesn’t have some filler tracks. White album is great even though some songs are filler like “revolution 9”, “piggies”, “wild honey pie”. Overall, I would put white album in B+ tier or A- tier. Still a good album.

In my book, Rubber Soul and Revolver are the Beatles 2 best albums, so both are definitely S-tier. I prefer the UK version of Rubber Soul. I love "I've Just Seen a Face", but what it comes down to is that I would trade it and "It's Only Love" for "Drive My Car", "Nowhere Man", "What Goes On", and "If I Needed Someone". Abbey Road and A Hard Day's Night are either my 3rd & 4th favorites, and are either S-tier or very high A's. I'd say that the Red and Blue albums are the 2 best compilations for the general listeners, but completists will prefer the Pat Masters albums.

It's always hard to choose which one is a favorite, but I've got a feeling (a feeling I can't hide, oh yeah) that Revolver, Abbey Road and... Well Sgt. Pepper's are those 3 albums that represents The Beatles at their most important album section so those would be a triple S crown to me

For me Revolver is song for song their best lp, Sgt Pepper is their most influential lp, Abbey Road is their ultimate masterpiece but The White album with all it's flaws is my personal favorite.

Agree with the White Album being top. You surprised me with Please Please Me - I thought you might have it in B or maybe even in C, A is great although I’d have it in S. Compilations are hard to rank - obviously great songs but often they don’t flow; also, I’m not usually a fan of compilations that have songs in chronological order but I suppose it makes sense for the Past Masters and 1s.

Everything the Beatles did was great Larry so ranking their albums is a kind of a personal thing,for example my favorite Beatles album to listen to is the American Rubber Soul album even though I feel their best album overall is Sgt.Pepper,it's funny my love for the American Rubber Soul album though Larry considering my favorite Beatles song as you know Nowhere Man was removed from it,I just love the country,folk vibe of that album. Abbey Road and The White Album are my two favorites as well. However, I’m not as big of a fan of Sgt. Pepper’s as many people seem to be. I actually like Magical Mystery Tour better.

My top three are: 1 - Rubber Soul 2 - Revolver 3 - Beatles for Sale I love Abbey Road and Sgt. Peoper but they just miss the cut. Past Masters Volume Two contains my favorite Beatles song, "You Know My Name (Look Up the Number)". My least favorite is the Hollywood Bowl album that was released in the late '70s, because of the overbearing crowd noise and screaming.

Revovler Sgt pepper The white album Rubber soul Abbey road A hard days night Magical mystery tour Help Let it be naked Please please me With the Beatles Beatles for sale For revolver I wish rain was included. Revolver as a certain sound to it and rain sounds like it belongs on the album Prefer let it be naked to the original. As the album is too short without don't let me down on there. And I really don't dig, dig a pony, sounds like a demo song. And then there's two jam session songs like Maggie may and dig it.
