The voices are spot on. Uncanny. I mean, even with my eyes closed I can tell which is which. I always knew Ringo was from Birmingham.

Lots of Paul Frees voices here. In addition to voicing John Lennon and George Harrison (doing a weird variant of his Peter Lorre impression for the latter), he did many of the incidental male voices. I can spot Frees's voices pretty well after years of hearing him in Disney, MGM, Jay Ward and Hanna-Barbera cartoons.

"I thought the travel agent said Pennsylvania, where all the pencils came from" Man, for being what every person on the show internally thought was a cash-in on (what was thought to be, and well... kind of was) a fad for a quick buck, this has some clever jokes.

Why is it that rock and roll kid shows of this era, combine music with a chase scene? It seems like a good topic for scholarship because something is going on.

I'm a big Beatles fan, and I have to say these cartoons are awful. I suppose they're a bit endearing, but the animation is very basic, the voices range from adequate to WTF, and Ringo always comes across as though he's a complete idiot. Apparently the Beatles were reluctant to be involved with "Yellow Submarine" cause they thought it would be similar to this sort of crap. Imagine their surprise when they found out it was actually very innovative and made good use of their music!

I'm 61. When this was on TV I so wanted to like it, but it just wasn't engaging or artistically appealing to me even then.
@waynechapman98232 ай бұрын
@@urgemore I’m 62 and didn’t really get interested in the Beatles until my high school years. Even though they’re my favorite band, I can admit they weren’t flawless with some projects not living up to their generally high standards. But they apparently didn’t have anything to do with these cartoons, so it’s easy for us to dismiss them. It’s just “insert band into nonsensical situations and cut to commercial.” I’d rather watch “Josie and the Pussycats”!

I’m not a fan of the dubbed music. The original would play the original music. This one is playing inserts of concert music in some, some are recent or more recent than 1965 airing.
