@EvanFarshadow9 күн бұрын
So basically there is a specific series of notes that when played properly, can seal away Maestro (the god of music and the villain in this scene). The Doctor gets all but the last note correct, but because he got the last note wrong, Maestro sent the piano away and sealed Ruby and The Doctor so they couldn't try again. John Lennon and Paul McCartney manage to figure out the last note needed and it seals away Maestro.

I have to kind of agree. While not terrible it probably was my least favourite episode of the season. IMO the issue was the pacing. I think it was kind of obvious that it would be the Beatles playing notes that would save the day, and as such the end battle felt like it really dragged because I was just waiting for it to get to that point. It didn't really help that they weren't active participants through the rest of the story either. I get that they were made more passive by the villain, but unlike a story such as The Unquiet Dead it meant it felt like we didn't see much of a character arc.

Right! Firstly the Beatles did NOT defeat Maestro. Paul McCartney and John Lennon accidentally defeated them by playing the Devil's Chord (by luck) so only 2 out of the 4 play a role. So say 'The Beatles defeated Maestro is certainly misleading). What's I like the idea. I did feel the plot was a little all 'over-the-place', I do love the idea of an other-worldly diety with the power over music. But a much better story idea would be to have Maestro deliberately trying to derail The Beatles success. Maybe they sabotage the recording of their first album ruining sales and popularity? Or trying to break apart the relationship between McCartney and Lennon ( the scene the two of them reappear into defeat Maestro in the end would have more payoff)? The Doctor could even bend the first rule and tell them of the direction that careers are going to go. Doctor: Paul. You gonna bring the world vegetarianism will stop and make it cool. John. You are going to stop a war that will disrupt an entire generation and even though you do not succeed, you will still make a difference. George: you are going to produce some of the best films known to man. Just remember these words 'Nuns on the run', you are going to love it. And Ringo. Dear Ringo. You are going to have the best career highlight of all. You are going to narrate 'Thomas the Tank Engine.,' Is funny little monologue I think would be one of those moments which fans would remember long after they'd see the episode. Plus, as catchy as the musical number is, it comes out of nowhere and sticks out like a sore thumb. Surely a better solution would have been as a reward, Paul McCartney and John Lennon inviting the Doctor, to do a number with The Beatles? That was all the motivation previous Doctors needed. It's not a 'Bad Story' by any means, I just think you could have been done better. That is my opinion.

Sorry, Maestro, but your number's up.

I would have liked to have seen Maestro been squashed by the piano and it's gizzards splattered all over the place.
