I think the light things was added by the producers to visually demonstrate that it is indeed the sonic that is cancelling the sound

I think its more that the rapid fluctuations of droplets hitting the water overwhelmed the screwdrivers ability to invert the sound. There was just too many different sounds for it to invert.

I love how Maestro’s face goes slack and blanks as they listen for music, and then twitches into a huge ecstatic grin when they hit the fork and make a note. Jinkx really sold the idea of Maestro with that; it reminded me a bit of what Bill Skarsgård was doing in IT as Pennywise; exaggerated camp facial expressions interspersed with falling blank to give the impression of a strange thing not of our universe that is merely wearing a human face loosely draped over something much more terrifying

The Weeping Angels, River Song, the Time Lord culture (before the stuff that was revealed during the female Doctor's run), the Mistress/Missy and now Maestro. I still do not understand how Ruby could have possibly known that he "never hide[s]" in their third adventure, only second Time/Space adventure together. We only got 7 episodes of them together before the 2 party finale. Not nearly long enough for us to get overly attached to Ruby nor their friendship. I'm glad that that the series is partnered with Disney as the quality of graphics and ambition has grown, but can we go back to an at least 12 episode season/series? We need time to really get into these relationships and characters.

they went on many adventures between "Space Babies" and "The Devil's Chord." This happens with every Doctor, every season, that's what Big Finish covers mostly. This is not new.

There's a line in this episode that they've been travelling together for 6 months after the events of "Space Babies". I know, it's a really odd decision and I still do not know why they decided to do that between the first two episodes of the series, especially with a new companion. Edit: just to clarify the above, I think the timing is what I found odd for this. Usually the "adventures off screen" part takes place/implied to happen later in the series (e.g. series 1 RTD between "Doctor Dances" and "Boom Town"). Having the first couple of episodes sequential without gaps really helps viewers to get to know the new companion - they grow with them. By having adventures off screen, we miss out on that development of the character which I feel is really crucial and what they had got right with Rose and Amy. Just my take though.
