I love the story of how this song got written - Paul was being driven to John and Cyns house to write with John ... and Paul HAD to be driven bc he had so many speeding tickets he got his license taken for awhile and he was conversing with the chauffeur and he said “you doing ok? Working hard?” And the chauffeur said “oh 8 days a week.” And when he got to Johns he said “I got the title!” And they wrote it in 2 hours. Incredible. :)

Shortly thereafter, I saw The Beatles for 2 nights in a row at the Hollywood Bowl - will never forget it. A year later Margaret was living in L.A. and we went to see them at Dodger Stadium and had great seats just above the dugout where they emerged. Great memories and may Margaret rest in peace.

The entire stadium, from the moment the Beatles came out of the dugout was sheer pandemonium... the screams, the flashbulbs going off, kids running on the field trying to reach the stage, kids passing out ...unbelievable! It was like having your hair stand on end for the nearly 30-minutes the Beatles performed! Of course, the video is the only we've got to capture that moment in time, but the imagination of how it must have been can't come close to actually being there!

I was 10 years old when the Beatles played on Ed Sullivan. I loved them at first sight, but I was never, ever a screamer over them. I honestly do not know why these girls (and some boys) screamed and cried over them. I just sat in silent rapture watching them play. I learned every fact about them I could, and still love them all to this day and I am 66. I cried buckets when John was killed, literally two months after my son was born. I sobbed for George too, whose face was in the large paintings I did at home that hung in my room. I finally got to see Paul McCartney live in 2010 in San Fransisco and Ringo in 2018. Wonderful concerts both!!! They were and still are a part of my entire life. I still have every single vinyl record they made- first editions of them all. I just bought a magazine today that People mag put out on their entire career. Bless these boys and their families. What a legend. What a legacy they gave us....🎼🎵🎶🎹🎸🥁🎸🎸♥💙💚💜💖💝💘💋

I was there, at Shea Stadium, in ‘65. My ticket costed 5$. As soon as I saw the poster, that the Beatles would be there, at Shea Stadium, I knew I had to go. I spent hours putting on the right clothes and dressing myself up for the occasion. I arrived two hours early, at 5 o’clock. It was a very warm evening, as I remember, and excitement was filling up. Guests arrived, pulling up with happy faces. Someone brought a banner saying “Help!”. I brought a snack at the bar right before. I also brought some water. I sat myself down, with my friend, who was extremely excited, too. Our seat was quite high, we got a good view, but was sad that we were so far away. Everyone was bouncing off the walls in excitement and happiness. I was so nervous. The second they arrived onstage, a burst of screams came out from the air. I thought I would have gone death. Couldn’t hear ONE THING. The screams were so loud. I remember joining in the screams when George took the vocals in “Everybody’s Trying To Be My Baby”, (I think, couldn’t hear) and being so sad when Paul finished “I’m Down”. Marvellous night!

1:38 Nice shot of Brian Epstein, The Beatles manager and the one who believed in them and promoted them to stardom. His name gets often under the radar for many but I pay my respects for him. I wonder how he felt getting those 4 kids with no money and filling stadium a few years later.

We are all so fortunate to have lived contemporaneously with his time on this Earth. He is a true musical genius and a world treasure! Lennon was equally brilliant but his talents were off center and complementary to Paul's. Equally brilliant of course With George and Ringo the genious cup runneth over. The power of such collective talent in the right place at the right time still brings a tear to the eye. Such a coalition of the stars will never be seen again ...

The Beatles woke me to my life on 2/9/64. On 12/8/80 I was thrust into the darkness of reality that my heroes and the world they created and blessed us all with until that evil night was now ripped from us and John suffered such pain. My daughter was born on Christmas day 1981. On 12/8/81 and to this day, with my missing only 5 years, I make my pilgrimage to Strawberry Fields across from the Dakota where Yoko sets the candles in the windows and with my guitar, join sometimes well over a hundred other kindred souls who stand in the rain or snow or just the Christmas tide to break into smaller groups and sing and play together in honor of JWL and I always think how very lucky I was to have been here for all of this and to have heard Ed Sullivan say, "Ladies and Gentlemen... the Beatles!" and have my life changed forever... and, my beautiful daughter, came to share the experience with me many times and now she is handing it down to my 5 year old granddaughter... tonight, we were all singing "Across the Universe"... John, we love you... and I thank you from the bottom of my soul. Humanity.
