Hear hear. It is sort of such a quiet classic. I mean of course it’s a Beatles song and therefore a massive successful and well known song but, compared to Sgt. Pepper, Yesterday, name a hundred others, this one isn’t oft put at the forefront of those other awesome tunes but, it’s definitely worthy of some special mention and I too, absolutely love this one. It’s somber but, has a way to make you feel your feet move. There’s more to it than I can give in my poor description. I just love it.

This is one of my favorite clips of the Beatles, because you can see, clearly, they are all thinking, "This is a JOKE!" The look on George's face really says it all. And the way Paul smiles back at Ringo, as if to say, "Yeah, I know they keep making you stand like an idiot, But they want the audience to see you, an not have you hide behind a kit, while we lip-sync to this song we could be ACTUALLY playing!" Their distaste about this situations is obvious! And funny!

Also, reading the other comments, it hadn't occurred to me that the rest of the group could have been making Ringo stand, but then why does George look so NOT AMUSED?

They definitely look like the whole idea of a music video is absurd and pointless. "Why would anyone need to see this, we're not even actually playing anything?" Which in their time before the rise of MTV and the concept of a modern music video, they might have had a point.

By this time they were not writing together, but separately. Usually the lead singer tells you who wrote it, in this case, John who was writing about his troubles with this one and the next single Help which was very personal. By now Paul was writing more melodic pieces and john was writing reflective and ascerbically edged stuff ….( yes, I know Yesterday was all time reflective 😀) that’s the exception !

@@patlaw398 ur critique is very fair actually. They r overrated. However, they were still a great band in a sense. They weren’t the greatest of musicians, but they could certainly play their instruments. John and Paul weren’t particularly good vocalist, but I enjoyed their singing. The song writing ✍️ was quite good. Although, they had some run ins with plagiarism. What set them apart for me were the recording and production starting with revolver and beyond. GM had a great vision for their sound, and the band played it. Obviously, no other band of the period had a fraction of the production budget. Had deep purple, the yardbirds, or even Donovan had the production budget, we would have had some more music of that class.
