George needed time to work out his part , Paul knew what he wanted from the get go

This summary really brings into focus how completely Jackson scrubbed George's fight with John that caused him quitting, John's frequent visible disabling heroin intoxication, and Yoko’s also heroin intoxicated episodes of interference from his film. Well done.

Some parts of Get Back were not honest. First was after George leaves and Paul, Ringo, Linda, and Michael are talking they cut out almost every negative thing Neil Aspinall was saying about Yoko. If you listen to the full bootleg tapes you get the full story. Also they edit Paul's voice to make it sound like he's crying when he says "and then there were two" when on the original tape they all laugh after he says it. Another part was that "secret" conversation between John and Paul recorded in a flower pot. They claim it's just Paul and John in the room but you can hear Ringo and Yoko in the background.

It was a secret conversation because they didn’t know it was being taped, that’s been a well known fact for years before the get back documentary came out.
@RS-nf4vzАй бұрын
It was falsified by being edited to remove the fact that Yoko, Ringo Neil and Linda were all participating in the conversation as well. And some of the words attributed to Paul were *never* said by Paul, he said something similar, but completely different words. Hard to see it as anything but an outright lie.

Thank you for a terrific video explaining it all. I LOVED it. I think one of the big problems of this period in Beatles history is John's lack of songs. I can't say if that was mainly because of heroin or Yoko or laziness. But they're trying to make an album and John basically had Don't Let Me Down and Dig A Pony. And also George, much as I loved him, could be a pain-in-the-ass sometimes. Remember he almost robbed the world of the rooftop concert which was great.

Given all that wonderful footage, it's surprising the choices MLH made in the Let It Be version.

THEY knew Billy Preston from their time in Hamburg ,I think it was George who brought Billy in to play piano and that also helped lighten the mood as they didn't squabble as much when he was around.

How could Peter Jackson not have included The Beatles Apple Studios Basement performance of "Two Of Us", "Let It Be" and "The Long And Winding Road" filmed on January 31,1969. He had hours of film to work with! The 1970 "Let It Be" film included those performances as the centerpiece of that film but not the Peter Jackson documentary! I was going to buy the Get Back DVD until I noticed the January 31,1969 basement recordings weren't included! Jackson could have edited down the Twickenham footage to include the Apple Studios Basement recording and filming session which was the highlight of the film!

I don't get it! Why did Peter Jackson only feature the - 1. Twickenham Rehearsals 2. Apple Studios Recording Sessions 3. Apple Studios Rooftop performance on January 30,1969 Mr. Jackson neglected to include the most important and productive part and that was the January 31,1969 recording session which yielded - Two Of Us Let It Be The Long And Winding Road in the Apple Studios basement studio?! They taped some run throughs of Lady Madonna and various Rock 'n' Roll favourites! Instead, Jackson concentrated on the miserable Twickenham Rehearsals which included Yoko Ono's repulsive "performance" with John, Paul and Ringo! What a mess!
