"If I Needed Someone" was one of Beatle George's songs that kinda flew under the radar, but I've always thought it was one of his finest compositions and is still I my top 5 of my favorite Harrison songs as a Beatle!
@FiremanSam60Ай бұрын
I think this was the song that fascinated me most on Rubber Soul and elevated them yet higher in my mind - I was 12 and learning the guitar from copying their songs. I would work out the bass and use that as a guide to determine the chords. But on this one I was caught out because Paul obviously stays on the same A rooted bass line throughout verse while the guitars change chord to G. That was the first time he'd done that and along with the harmonies, it creates a totally different song.

The 2009 version was not a remix. It was just a remaster of the mix that George Martin did in 1987 for the first CD release. He didn’t have the technology available to be able to separate out all of the elements and so just narrowed the even harder panning that was on the original 1965 stereo mix. Unfortunately he also used some digital reverb. This is a lovely remix. Thank you.
