The Beatles - Let it be -

"Let it be" is a classic. What is perhaps not as well known is that McCartney is referring to his own mother whose name was Mary. She died when he was only 14.
As the Beatles were in the process of breaking up, McCartney, like all the others, was extremely upset. One night (according to interviews given by him), he dreamt of his mother who looked at him and said, "Let it be". He took that to mean that this was all happening for a reason and to stop the war inside himself. Accept it. He sat down that night and wrote the song.
Needless to say, each Beatle went on to be successful on his own. This is from the album, "Let it be", the last album produced by the Beatles in 1970.
