Thanks for the great info and happy company😃✨✨I visited family in New York 1977, and a aunt bought me BAHB- I had lots of KiSS albums at the time but still loved and played this album lots and lots😄

You’re welcome. You have a very cool aunt. Glad you enjoyed the album. I saw KISS a few years back. No reason not to listen to both.

Thanks. Glad you enjoyed the video. I’m shocked it took me this long to get a copy on LP. But happy to have it now.

I bought the original lp when it first came out. When I went to pay for it I expected to be mocked by the young clerk in the LA record store, so I said, "Yeah, I know, but I have to buy it because I was there." He looked at me and said, "You SAW the Beatles?" "Yeah, twice at the Bowl and once at Dodger Stadium." He looked at the record and said, wistfully, "Wow, I wish I'd been alive then." (He actually would have been about age 5.) I felt extremely old, but at least he didn't make fun of me for buying it.

That’s amazing. Now I have to be in awe that you saw the Beatles too. Were people making fun of Beatles fans back then? I never fear that buying them now.

@@BeatleDustino It was more about buying that album, which was like ancient history at the time. Music had moved on, especially among the kids (like the clerk) who were listening to punk.

@OriginalCaliKitty that must have been an odd time to be a fan. I came in right with the Anthology, and ever since that it seems Beatles get nothing but respect.

Nice video Beatle Dustino, yeah I got Live at The Hollywood Bowl Lp as a gift & it’s still sealed. I boughtThe Beatles at The Hollywood Bowl in 77 when it came out & I loved it, plus George Martin had a lot to do w/producing/ working on the album too. And I believe it hit #1 on the album charts. Two years before that release I found a boot that was direct from the Capitol acetate of Hollywood Bowl (which was supposed to be released back in the 60’s & never was.) it was great sound quality! So by the time this latest HB came out on cd & Lp I heard a lot of versions of it already. One day I might just open the Live at The Hollywood Bowl & give a listen. I have Eight Days a Week on DVD & Blu Ray I enjoyed it when it came out on HULU channel, not the best but you know how it is w/ Beatles official releases always something wrong or missing- Ron Howard did a decent job. I forgot about the Shea Concert theatrical release at the same time as EDAW, boy when they physically release Shea if it isn’t done right the flood gates of comments will be unreal! Thanks

Very cool. Glad to hear even some of those bootlegs sound great. Hopefully they will release the Shea Stadium film. And an album would be great too with today’s technology.

@@BeatleDustino Yes the Shea concert everyone’s been waiting for. Theres the original TV broadcast version- that one has “She’s a Woman” audio & video missing as well as “Everybody’s Trying to be My Baby” video is missing- Anthology Vol.1 or Vol.2 cd has ”Everybody’s Trying to be My Baby” has the live concert audio track on it. And “Act Naturally” the Tv broadcast used the Beatles recorded version for the film, although the in-Line recording of the concert has the live audio on track. So Giles Martin/ Apple Corp. have a lot of work to do regarding Beatles live at Shea 1965. Plus in the early 90’s Ron Furmanek remixed the Shea audio for Apple(as well as many other Beatles projects) & I believe did a very good stereo mix & it’s been sitting in Apples vault ever since?? Unless Apple has a better audio source than the in-Line audio tracks of Shea concert (they probably do) then hopefully that’s what they will use for the physical media. And they can also give us the original TV broadcast. Apple has excellent video tape of Shea as shown on Beatles Anthology dvd set. Let’s wait & see what we get!

@aerialtour they also have the film that accompanied Eight Days a Week. I heard that was very decent quality. I really hope they do something with it. Maybe next year for the 60th?

@@BeatleDustino I don’t know much about the Shea film that was the companion to Eight Days a Week. Im guessing it was sourced from what Apple has in its vault? Do you know anyone who saw that film?

@aerialtour not sure. Guessing Mean Mr Mayo might have. He seems to go to all these theatrical releases and reports on them.

I was 14 when the original came out. I can’t remember if I bought it myself or my parents got it for me but it was an exciting record. No internet back then of course so you couldn’t watch live footage of them whenever you wanted and no bootlegs. At least I didn’t have access to any in my local shop. Fast forward to 2016 and the movie. What a disappointment. What a let down from what the original idea had been….a collection of numerous live footage from many sources. Early in the movie I could tell they substituted the Hollywood Bowl version of Twist And Shout for a 1963 performance and I just shook my head. And then to tie the reissue in with the movie made no sense. And only four bonus tracks when all three full shows have been out there on bootleg for so long. For me it was a real let down all around. At least you got to see the full Shea Stadium in the theater. If there was a legal dispute at the time regarding a Blu-ray release, you’d think it be settled by now. Maybe one day we’ll get it.

Especially now that the technology is improving and improving. I’m hoping one day they can clean up all the Hollywood Bowl shows, both audio and video. And also the Shea Stadium. Those would both be some amazing releases! I never got to see Eight Days a Week in theaters, so never got to see Shea Stadium.
@michaelf96934 ай бұрын
I’d be surprised if they released the Hollywood Bowl again. But you never know. But Shea is definitely one of those we know they have it so where is it projects. So hopefully one day
@BeatleDustino4 ай бұрын
@michaelf9693 true. I believe all the legal woes are worked out with Shea Stadium too. So with MAL technology on their side it would make an amazing live album with film to accompany it! I hope they do it soon. Maybe next year for the 60th anniversary.
