Over the years they had many sessionmen and guests playing along with them but the Fab Four will always be John Paul George and Ringo and they will still be around in 100 years time because so much of their stuff was so good. I am so glad I grew up with them and all the other great musical acts who started out in the 60s like the stones, kinks ,who ,Jimi Hendrix Cream, t-Rex, searchers and so many more groups and solo acts from UK and that’s before we even think about USA. You are lucky because you can instantly access hundreds of hours of truly great music just in rock pop before we come to all the other kind of music there is available

Over the short time the band was together, they recorded songs in multiple genres: blues, rockabilly, folk-rock, soft rock, hard rock, prog rock, music hall, show tunes...picking a favorite is impossible!

I’m pretty much obsessed with the Beatles and I’m 62. Believe it or not. I didn’t know anything about them till probably one or two years after they were broken up and I caught the movie Hard Days Night movie ob tv at our summer camp when it was raining and I couldn’t play. Probably about 10 years old. I’ve been obsessed ever since!, But yes, it’s totally mind blowing that they met, Wrote and played all this music in less than 10 years. And being those ages.. The biggest group in the world broke up and people are still saying they’re the best ever when Ringo (drummer) was the oldest in late 20s and the youngest George Harrison (lead guitar) was like 21 or 22 When they started!! I thinkJohn Lennon and Paul McCartney were in between those two ages. They’re singing, instrumental talents plus the heck out of this world of their writing talents especially Lennon - McCartney. It was like they were an amazing star through that decade that was so bright, it’s just still shining. Sadly, , John Lennon was murdered at age 40 on December 8, 1980 in New York City. We’re here and y’all go ahead and moved and he loved it there because he said it felt like home being a port town like Liverpool. That stood there and let them arrest him after. there’s a famous picture that someone got right before John and Yoko left that morning to go to the recording studio and this assassin asked John to autograph his calendar of John‘s new record and there’s a picture of John signing it and there’s a house that faces in the picture. When John and Yoko returned home that evening, as soon as John got out of the car and went toward the entrance, he got behind him in an army stance, and yelled at Mr. Lennon! When he turned around John, the guy shot him five times in the back. He died in a police car on the way to the hospital. I can even believe the world mourning over this. George Harrison died and I think 1999 I can’t lung cancer he was always called the quiet beetle. He never talked about any interviews or gave mini but believe me if you listen to him in any of them he is a hilarious guy very sharp had a dark sense of humor. The other two are still around and I’m by the what they say will be the last rip Beatles record, they put out real recently called Now & Then.

This is as early a United States Beatles hit as you can get. Their first original release. I cannot stress enough how early in their career this is. But four years later they were setting the standard in recording and everyone was following.

The change soon to come in their music is astonishing. The early music is incredible, but by '65, '66, they were going someplace else. Each song would sound different but was immediately recognizable as The Beatles. Each was around 30 years old when they broke up. Agree with the suggestions to go in chronological order. They quickly went from great rock and roll to amazing music that will live forever. Alchemy.

i always just adored this song. its so simple and catchy. always thought it was more folk or blues influenced than r&r. folk music was a big thing in 1962. it was their first release and reached #17 on the british charts. they're 2nd single "please please me" reached #1 and over the next 8 years so much talent, creativity and innovation gushed from these 4 lads they became living myths and icons for 3 generations. thanks for the video.

Like I mentioned in your last Beatles reaction, to this day, The Beatles are the biggest selling music act in music history, and nobody else even comes close. They have the most #1 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 (with 20) and 35 overall top 10 hits. I'm gonna make the same recommendation that I did in your last Beatles reaction, which is that you consider doing full Beatle album reviews. They are that amazing, and evolved so much in their 8 year recording history. Many other reactors have done the same thing, and they are some of the best music reaction videos on KZbin. I would start with the Beatles 1st album (Please, Please Me), then go in chronological order right through to their final released album, "Let it Be", and then finally, their last recorded album, "Abbey Road". LMD is a Bop that's also a vibe. It's a sleeper hit. I think the opening of the song is deceptively "pedestrian". I can imagine being in a Club in 1962, early 1963, in London or wherever, and hearing this song...I'm sure I would start tapping my hands on the table, nodding my head and then the vibe would take over. What I might have thought of as a "disposable" song develops into a smooth, chill, Bop, you know? It grows on you and Paul's vocal is kind of smokey, right? Cool stuff!

This is the first song from the first album. The first song recorded with the line-up they ended with. John, Paul, George and Ringo. They did some recording before this, but they are not really considered proper recordings.

Went to #17 in fall 1962 on the British charts. Before, they were just considered a "maybe, novelty act." When they came back to record again, it was more like "Hello Boys, glad to see ya."

In a span of less than 10 years (really, the meat of their work was 6 years. '64 to '70) they produced 13 albums. Lennon/McCartney wrote 186 songs together. G. Harrison, 22. Ringo 2 and they also covered 25 songs...They had 20 #1 hits, and 34 in the top 10!..They officially broke up on my 13th Bday. April 10th, 1970. Just thought I'd throw that in there. They had a huge affect on me in my early years!

This was their first release in the UK. It's probably their simplest song, it topped at #15, not good enough for their producer. So he brought them a song by a professional song writer that he knew would be a #1 hit. That's a big deal for a producer to bring a band a great song to record. But they told him they had their own #1 hit song to record. He wasn't happy with them until he heard them play 'Please, Please Me'. He said "gentlemen you've just recorded your first #1 hit". The rest is history!

The hard rocking "teddy" performers of late '50s Hamburg were turned into a boy-band by their manager (BrianEpstein), which led to "beatlemania" and super-pop stardom by 1963... Do chronological order they have such a depth of great songs it will take a while to complete but you'll see how they progressed form their earlier pop style to incorporating more sophisticated sounds that were unheard of before for pop and rock songs. Your audience will guide you to songs and give some context to the songs and the great cultural changes happening during this period.

That "country" sound you describe is really more a "blues" sound. These guys were genuine rock and roll and blues fans, inspired by the likes of Chuck Berry, amongst others. I'm glad you are finding these tracks and enjoying them, even if your lack of knowledge about the band makes me cringe! But hey, you're learning, which is a good thing, and maybe one day you'll be connoisseurs of their music and passing it down to another generation. 😁

The Beatles first release. Contrary to popular myth, Ringo Starr DID play on the first release of this song (not this one) before George Martin (and I think McCartney) decided they didn’t like the drumming and re-recorded it with Andy White. Ringo played the tambourine on the one here. Any versions sold in ‘62 feature Ringo and any from ’63 feature Andy White. The original has hand claps instead of tambourine and much smoother harmonica from Lennon
