Brilliant! I’m a soon-to-be 73 year old original Beatlemaniac who witnessed the Beatles” first appearance on Ed Sullivan in Feb 1964. I have remained and ardent Beatlemaniac ever since (my Maryland license plate is “BEATLE”). Clearly you appear much too young to have experienced Beatlemania first hand yourself, and it is a credit to your creativity, talent, attention to detail and shear capturing of the phenomenon that was Beatlemania. Astoundingly good. Excellent production, start to finish, and in an amazingly short time frame. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. I absolutely LOVE IT!

Amazing Reimagining of the new Beatles 'Now and Then'. My pen-pal and I like this one better... So Fun!
@avlisk Жыл бұрын
Exactly my thoughts about this video, (except for my license plate). I, too, was 12 and watched that Sullivan show. PS I like this version better than the real one, which I didn't like very much at all.
@PygmalionFaciebat Жыл бұрын
@@avlisk I totally agree with you. As far i can tell the official version has a lot influence from the late Paul , who somehow since the 80s always brings some sad tone into the songs. Lennon is much more melodic and happy (and when they both were alive and composed together, they perfectly fit to eachother). Now sure, Lennon also had some sad tunes (''I didnt mean to hurt you'' ) ... But when it comes to the Beatles itself (and ''Now and Then'' is supposed to be a Beatles song) , we all remembered Beatles for this old 60s style. Therefore i also much more like this version of dreamerjazz352 much more. So much more, that i am think that AI could replace the voice of dreamerbazz352 with the voices of the Beatles-members and it would sound even more like them. I am not sure wether dreamerjazz352 realizes what an amazing work he had done ! He really did!
@spindriftdrinker Жыл бұрын
@@PygmalionFaciebat I don't think there is any need to replace dreamer's vocals - they are excellent and spot on. I know that's not what you meant - I know you were just wondering if the song could be made more Beatle-esque.

Honestly I don’t even hear the other one any more, I hear this. Sometimes when I wake up this version is playing in my head.
@kevbob Жыл бұрын
Just want to qualify- I really like the reworked JL song just released by Paul Ringo and the estates; I always think of the 3 reworked Lennon demos as "The Beatles*" and not "The Beatles". It's not perfect, but it doesn't have to be. Hearing Paul's wonderful bass on a tune from Lennon is just exquisite. While I wish I could hear Paul's young voice mesh with his, that's gone forever, and his old man singing is very poignant. It's really lovely. And I'm not saying a 1-man band reimagining of the song as a 1964 version is technically better, it's not of course, but it's showing how a song and melody written in 1978 is really not far removed from what he and Paul were writing in 1963 and 64 and can stick in my ear almost the same as, say, Eight Days A Week or This Boy. You've really done a stellar job doing this, and obviously had a lot of fun as well. Congrats on almost hitting 150k views on this, you deserve it.

@mibackful Жыл бұрын
@@tjcint Hi there, I saw them before Ringo joined, replacing Pete Best and before Brian Epstein smartened up their appearance. They were pretty rough looking; old leather jackets,tatty blue jeans,Elvis hair cuts. They had the Marlon Brando/James Dean look..rebels without a clue! Their music was rough too. Quite tight, but not very professional.Stopping and starting songs, eating on stage,banter with the crowd. The old Cavern was a death trap...a basement with condensation running down the walls and no real escape if there was a fire. Still, it was all very exciting and a welcome relief to some of the drab music on the radio back then. There's a You tube video with them playing "Some other guy", in the old Cavern,you may have seen.Ringo has replaced Pete and Epstein has tidied them up,but you can still feel their charisma below the less than smooth performance. This is great. I was just thinking about how this song doesn't really sound like a Beatles song, in the same way that Real Love and Free as a Bird didn't either, because they sound like John Lennon songs produced by Jeff Lynne with other Beatles members playing on them, but I guess it's really all in the production. Pretty amazing you pulled this off so quickly!
@gizm0s668 Жыл бұрын
To me it tends to highlight how little John's style changed over the years. When I first heard the official release my thought was "this sounds just like a Lennon song...not The Beatles" - then I found this arrangement and, wow. So little changed besides tempo and instrumentation and BAM, what I thought was "just a Lennon song" turned into a true Beatles tune. Pretty cool.

What a remarkable young man! His impression of Ed was perfect! The "group" was great...(except Paul plays left handed.) Doesn't matter - that would be tough for a right handed person! Congratulations on nailing this!!!WOW!!!

This is an amazing cover. It fits right in and has a Things We Said Today vibe. It helps my brain accept it as a genuine Beatle track. Amazing work on display, very creative 🤘🔥🔥🔥🤘

This has to be the most enjoyable video I've seen this year! The kind you can watch over and over like a 45 rpm record but better!

I just wanted to leave you some kind words, this video is SOOOO well done, you can see there was a lot of love and effort put into this. I like how you managed to make this song fit so well the late-early Beatles sound, and the nod to the official video clip, with the "cameos" from other Beatle stages. This is the kind of video that, for a fact, has to blow up, cause it's beautiful.

Those were indeed very kind words, thank you! You know what's strange though? I created and edited the whole video the day before the official music video release, and I had no clue there was going to be those Beatle cameos like that. I assumed they would have just had like old videos of John and George inserted, but not like how they were playing next too Paul and Ringo in the modern day. So, my little Beatle cameos was something I thought would be funny to do because of my concept of the "Time Travel Stage," so Beatles from different eras started popping up. Didn't think something similar would happen in the official video! Very cool.

Wow, you've really revealed something here! You would think the song is strictly late development Lennon, but you've shown that the feel was there from early on. That melody could have been on an earlier album and fit right in. Great!
@dreamerjazz352 Жыл бұрын
Yes exactly! I heard early Beatles in John's melody, even beyond the slower tempo. It's John, there's always early Beatles in his melodies, they're hidden deep in there. Thank you!
