Thank you very much! One of my personal favorites from Ringo. Shows that simplicity is all you need in certain songs. Thanks for commenting!

It is more impressive to watch someone emulating a difficult groove, with the sound perfect, than someone flying around the drums like they are trying to create warp speed. Great job with the sound and groove, which is what it is all about.

It’s all about groove and feel. And ringo was excellent at both! Thanks for commenting!

I like what you did in the bridge

@@davidmontis7259 I wasn't sure about the clapping, but everything else was good in that part I think personally :)
@davidmontis72592 жыл бұрын
@@IsaacWale2004 thank you kindly! The clapping was to simulate that accent that you hear after the three hi hat hits. I’m not sure what that hit is, it doesn’t sound like drum though. I wanted to have something in place of that accent as it sounds empty without it. Clapping was the only thing I could think of. I’m sure if I spent more time with it I could have balanced it better in the mix.
@rix292 жыл бұрын
Interesting. I’m never sure if the hi hats were recorded separately and added on or Ringo played it straight on the record? I’ve seen several drum covers where they play the hats too.
@davidmontis72592 жыл бұрын
@@rix29 the hi hats were overdubbed later. When listening to the track, you can hear the tom pattern continue beneath the hi hats. A lot of covers on KZbin play the bridge with the hi hats all at once rather than playing then separately.

Simple, delicate, but yet so intricate and powerful, all at the same time. Fantastic job, you got the feel right and everything.

I love your Bridge in what it ways come. It is just close to Ringo's beat at the middle minutes there. You can also watch Ably House as the Comparison to the Isolation of instrument so Mate !
@davidmontis72592 жыл бұрын
I did watch Ably House while figuring out what to play during the bridge. I've always watched Michael Sokil's cover of Something to see how others play it. I decided to do a combination of the two. Michael's video is also where I get the idea for clapping in the bridge. But I think what I have sounds good. Thanks for commenting and your suggestion!

What kind of sizzle is that on the crash?
@davidmontis72592 жыл бұрын
It's just a washer tied to a string. It's a makeshift sizzle cymbal.

how did you learn to imitate the drum sounds so well? they sound spot on!
@davidmontis72592 жыл бұрын
I just tune them by ear and try match the sound of the record as close as I can. Then adding compression/EQ to the tracks help out a lot as well. Thanks for commenting!
