Great song. I wish they rerecorded with John and put it on the Double Album

I absolutely love this, some time ago I also try to do anything with this song and know how hard is to make a satisfying mix of it. Good job!

This is a case where I think AI could be fun. This is very cool, but I'd love to hear this with some Beatles-esque harmonies (particularly a John-like harmony vocal), because I think a White Album version of this would have had some backing vox not unlike Sexy Sadie or Happiness is a Warm Gun.

It is absolute fantastic.

Great job! Best attempt I have heard. Only issue is that aside from Jackie L., there is no "spirited" vocal from George to match the power of the music - only his somewhat winsome voice from the demo. Would love to hear John or Paul, with their stronger voices, take a stab this one. Nevertheless, quite enjoyable : )

The version with George's voice in over Jacky Lomax's and buried in the music of the song covers for the weakness in his voice. George's voice could also have been double recorded onto the track. I think that was done with Taxman on Revolver. I would suggest this is not the final version George would have used.

I agree on the double tracking,a good substitute for the lack of the other Beatles voices.

IMHO, this track SHOULD have been the B side to "Now And Then".
@PC4USE13 ай бұрын
Yes but that does a disservice to Jackie Lomax and his original vocals. This is best as a fan made project,even though some MAL technology would be a great enhancement.

I've always fantasised about this exact version, so it's pretty surreal to finally hear it. Unfortunately I don't think it quite works, despite every part of it being great - the chill Esher vocals and high-energy Lomax music just don't mesh. A worthy experiment though!

Sounds like things aren't matched up.

Paul should overdub a unison vocal. That would strengthen this cool effort 👌

Sadly,82 year old Paul cannot blend with 20 something George. Much as I love him and his music,it would not fit.

Encore une chanson de George mis de côté 😢

This could be the best version if only the vocals weren't a bit out-of-synch in places.

Yeah. Those were George's two vocal tracks from the acoustic demo. Pretty much inseparable at my level.

maybe hide it with some reverb or see what AI can do

It's too bad The Beatles didn't include this and two other tracks on =The White Album instead of Revolution 9, which was a waste of space.
@olivierdurand9439 ай бұрын
Yeah. Or instead Piggies because George could only include four songs.

If given the full Beatle treatment, this could have been a great selling single from that LP.
@thejma7248 ай бұрын
Right you are…Rev 9 is a piece of indulgent crap, put there to appease John’s threat to leave the band…utterly garbage, this song here is better than 80% of what John was doing in that record

Why The Beatles❓Is NOT The Beatles. Vocals George Harrison, Guitar Eric Clapton and Paul McCarthney, Nicky Hopkins ob Piano Ringo Starr in drums.
@cinemascope53 Жыл бұрын
George, Paul, and Ringo performed without John on George's White Album songs "Long Long Long" and "Savoy Truffle". Eric Clapton played on "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" and Nicky Hopkins played on "Revolution". The line-up would be normal for a 1968 Beatles song by George.

In addition, it was recorded during the White Album sessions, on June 24 - 25, 1968. The reason why John does not participate is because he was recording and mixing Revolution 9 in another room.

Many, many Beatles songs have less than 4 members playing. This has three, plus Clapton (who played on While My Guitar Gently Weeps) and Nicky Hopkins (who played on Revolution). With George on vocals, I accept it as a Beatles tune since it was recorded during the Beatles 1968 self-titled album sessions (albeit for a Jackie Lomax album).

@@ForoArcadiaactually George had a lot to do with Revolution9 because it’s taken from Revolution take 20 extended mix that had ALL THE BEATLES on it: GEORGE “Barcelona”, John” They Are Standing Still”

Yes, to the above orchestration/musicians. I would add that I don't know who played organ. I remember the instruments here as the same instruments note-for-note on the Jackie Lomax album "Is This What You Want" because I learned the tune in a band that I was in. Jackie sang the Hell-O out of it by the way. Let's not forget that there was a time when Apple Records was also signing people (like James Taylor, Mary Hopkin, etc) , so "The Boys" saved some money by doubling as studio musicians for their label to great effect I thought.
