For those few seconds that everything dropped and the spotlight was on George for that guitar solo, not only did he nail it, but that was a fast click of the tone switch back to the main riff. Perfection! 1:40

The beatles were magical. There may be no other group like them ever again. They blended so well together and had it all; talent, charm, confidence and always looked like they were having a good time. No wonder the girl was in awe of them.

I’ve always though the “She’s got a ticket to ride” part John’s voice was double tracked. But now I see it’s Paul’s voice singing in unison 😱🤯😍 Their voices were made for each other. They’re so similar 👌🏼✨

Paul is not singing in unison, he singing harmony. Sometimes an octave harmony, sometimes a fifth.

steve jobs and wazniak got in a big argument about this song. "John was John cause he wrote Ticket to Ride!" That he did. But McCartney contributed: the signature guitar lick, the totally unique drumming which he taught to Ringo, and the thundering bass. go figure.

Why were The Beatles so great? 1, They could sing and play. Their music was far superior to what was popular before them. 2, They wrote most of their own songs, and their songs were great. That was relatively new in the 60s. and 3, They were attractive and had great personalities. There will never be another Beatles.

I believe the story that the original title and what they are singing is 'Ticket To Rye'. Capitol Records messed it up when they thought it was Ticket To Ride. Watch they're vocals, they ain't saying 'Ride'.

This performance used a backing track. It was recorded on the Saturday before. The 64 performance was live,and the band was about drowned out by the screams, so Ed made sure that they could be heard by the TV audience at home.
@bravesoul57433 жыл бұрын
Naahh theres no backing track here for sure
@jmdocs3 жыл бұрын
Not a backing track. They prerecorded the entire song live in the studio, vocals included, ahead of time. They they lip-synched to this “live” track. Very common practice from the 50s through the 70s when shows didn’t want the canned feeling of an “American Bandstand” performance but also didn’t want to risk anything during a live performance if it could be avoided.
@TheAerovons2 жыл бұрын
@@jmdocs It was recorded live on Saturday and shown on Sunday because Sunday they were playing Shea. No lip synching, as proven by Jagger sneaking in Lets spend the night together at least once after promising not to, and The Doors being banned from the show years later for similar reasons.
