After listening to this tune for decades, I now know how "complex" the drum part is. Ringo created an exciting and rousing arrangement for the song. I guess he grew bored with it later...More importantly, your playing is astounding. Thank you.

This is sooo good. I really admire you. I also want to do a cover of this song, but until that I have to practice a lot. By the way, which idiots pushed the "don't like" button here? Unbelievable.

Played this in a covers band I've just joined, didn't realise how nice the drum beat was. This will help me no end, I've got most of it just wish I knew the sticking for the first and second fills once the main ride comes in in?

I have been inspired to look deeper into Ringo's drumming, I grew up listening to a lot of Beatles due to older siblings, and started playing the drums when I was 13 years old, 1975 So I was trending to other bands at the time. Of course playing pop music back then you had to do a Beatles cover of some kind. They were certainly adding to basic 50's style of drumming and forging ahead with a more eclectic style of music so naturally Ringo was a big part of that.

Ringo's drumming has a very unique sound to it. One of the main reasons for that is that the fact Ringo was born a LEFTY but his grandmother forced him to be a RIGHTY. He writes and plays drums right handed but does most other things left handed. I am not really sure why he did not set his kit up for left handed playing like Phil Collins does but he chose to do it right handed. If you have studied his drumming as much as I have over the last 45 years, you finally realize that a lot of his fills and snare work are actually LEFT handed sticking, which means his fills and other drum work start off with the left instead of the right hand. To get used to left hand sticking, if you are not comfortable with it, do your single, double ad triple paradiddles right handed first and then left handed after that. It helps to build ambidexterity. A lot of his patterns make sense because he is a lefty at heart. By his own admittance is rolls never sounded very smooth because he was still trying to lead with his left on a right handed kit.

Scott Murphy Thanks Scott, I just kind of got more interested in guys like Steve Gadd, and just listened to the Beatles as entertainment. I remember learning songs back in the day, but got away from listening to the Beatles. Relistening with Fresh ears adds to my previous appreciation of Ringo.

Scott Murphy he also says he can't go back and duplicate a drumming pattern he just what the music says to him maybe that is one reason i like his drumming so much it comes from his heart
