Thanks again Joe, much appreciated. Such a great song of The Beatles especially in the hands of Joe Cocker. Like how you teach and play it.

Thanks Joe. Really enjoyed your guitar playing and singing and most of all your manner of teaching. You made it look so simple. Perhaps it is to many but your skill really makes an incompetent like me feel that I can do this as well. Cheers Simon

Hi Joe, What a great song and quite easy to play. I'm more of a finger player myself (strumming and picking notes) but this song sounds better with a pick. I find picks a bit alien and am definitely too heavy handed. Do you have any tips to help me improve.

+Melvyn Higson like most things Melvyn, just practice. Often people who don't use a pick find it difficult to start with. My only advice is be delicate, try to play softly and smoothly. Always go slowly until you have a sound you like, then you can speed up accordingly. Hope that helps a little

JoesGuitar lessons Thank you Joe I'll certainly practice. I play melody and bass on my classical guitar and just about everything in my ukulele with my fingers so its natural for me to play my acoustic the same way. I will master the pick. Thanks again.

+Melvyn Higson It’s usually the other way around Melvin, people want to learn how to fingerpick, you’ve done the hard bit, learning to strum should be easier by comparison. You will get there good luck

I don't like instructions with that thumb over the E string....

Hi Richard, there are alternative chord fingerings if you don't feel good with this. I have the same problem. Try a barre chord or power chord instead. Just chose the fingering you feel comfortable with. We want to enjoy the playing, right? 😉

Thanks Corinna, simple solution, to a simple problem. There are many ways of playing chords 👍
