Good one. The Beau Brummels are one of my all time favorite bands. The B-side "In Good Time" is just as good. Their album FROM THE VAULTS is a masterpiece.

One of their greatest jangly sides!! I have this in the 1968 Vault compilation San Francisco Roots (that also featured the unreleased Knight Riders's song "I")

@@thomassmith8721 Greetings Thomas! Yes this is a really great comp, starting with the original recording of Somebody To Love by The Great Society, and the awesome flip side "Free Advice". It has four of the greatest Beau Brummels tracks, "Dance With Me" and "She's My Baby" by the Mojo Men, also the Knight Riders' "I", and also The Tikis (an early incarnation of Harpers Bizarre!). It comes mostly from the catalog of Autumn Records all from the year 1965. Great comp, easy to find and cheap!

@@achillebrunet6023 Thanks bro. It sounded like something that would fit in my wheelhouse. I dig West Coast pop/psych/folk/acid rock. You know all that good stuff. It's reflected in your music.

Their records were produced by Sly Stewart, who was a staff producer at Autumn Records before he formed Sly and the Family Stone.

The intro to their song "The Jerk" is some funny dialogue between Sly and engineer Hank McGill. Sly wrote that song.

Really fine song with that 12-string guitar that definitely recalls the Searchers and the Byrds!

With that guitar, nobody but the Byrds come to mind. Dale, had this song only peaked at #93, it would have been a hit in my book. I like lesser known songs that didn't climb the charts as much as those that made the top 40. Just because a song hovered near the bottom, didn't mean it wasn't a good song. This one, far from being a cellar dweller is a perfect example, peaking at a very respectable #53. At times the vocals remind me of Lee Hazelwood and the harmonies, a bit of The Hollies. It's simply a marvelous tune. Hey, buddy, still no word on our other buddy, Sir Rog. I asked Edwin if he has heard from Rog and he said he hasn't. Oh, yeah, I'm just about to watch the Chicago Bears in London. "Bears in London" could be a song title. There's already a "Werewolves of London" by Warren Zevon. Cheers, DD and that doesn't stand for Dudley Do-Right. 😂

@@recordcave Thank you kindly, DD. A long while back Rog suggested we exchange e-mail addresses. I didn't. At that time I was a victim of identity theft. I was paranoid. It took a lot to straighten things out. Eventually, I recouped my losses. I still haven't shaken the feeling of being violated. It's such a helpless feeling mixed with anger. Thanks, again DD
