Hi Will, it's nice to see people who can bring old machines back to life. Most people think it's junk, scrap it. Most of my machine shop is 75 to 100 years old, works fine with restoration of antique engines. Fine job, thanks for sharing the workings of the hammer. 👍

It sounds like your old braking band material was very similar to the friction bands we use on our winches in commercial fishing. They're available in all sorts of sizes so your liable to find some that work for your hammers. They also do the braking function of the winch so they are designed for exactly that task. Just search for "Woven Brake Band Material" and you will pull up loads of manufacturers.

Honestly, if you’ve got the energy to care to film those smaller progressive adjustments or minor/tedious repairs, I’d certainly be into that content. Unique or specific repairs and fine tuning, minor explanations, a couple fixed camera angles, and a mellow audio track, and also the everything else involved in putting out content, but all i’m sayin is I’d tune in for those videos.
