There are sightings of tigers there in Cameron and also you have to keep an ear on strange sounds like rushing water (some landslide or 'kepala air' (huge amount of rushing water) may occur such as the one about 1 month ago) or at least tell someone the route you are going to take when hiking, so its easier to find you when you gone missing. As for people getting lost there, one of the popular story is of Jim Thomson, a Thai silk tycoon, lost in the 60s and never been found. Sure, there are some paranormal activity, just don't boast around.

If you are into the extreme you might want to try hiking the G7 mountain which is 7 highest mountain in the peninsula..but it is not for the ordinary hiker..you must be fully prepared ..sad fact is that my older brother died while hiking one of the g7 mountain..if you not into it you might want to look up for Royal Belum forest trip..to date I never come across any western tourist posted trip to Royal Belum..cheers

Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry to hear that about your brother, he must have been some man though to take that challenge on! I've never actually heard of the G7 though so I'll definitely give it a look up. We do love hiking and before we came to travel around South East Asia we walked from the top to the bottom of Croatia, hiking through the mountains and sleeping in our tent so we do love to do different activities and things that just aren't that normal so we will definitely look into this for the future

Exciting as it may be but it is not virgin forest with no trails and ropes. Next time if you suddenly stumble into one (any, virgin rainforest), stop dead in your tracks, sit down and figure out carefully or you will get lost deeper and deeper. Paranormal, well that depends. A malay girl got lost in a virgin forest several years back hiking Mount Tahan, a few hundred kilometers to the east of Cameron. She survived on her own for more than 15 days. Many other cases were not so lucky. P. S. She did not stumble into any ghost or wild animals. Very lucky indeed not meeting an apex predator.
@EoinandAisling2 жыл бұрын
We had our path very well planned out and we checked every 5-10 minutes to make sure we will still on the route but it would be easy to get lost. So many crazy stories but I am glad to hear the girl survived and got back out alive and well
@dharmaosman1842 жыл бұрын
@@EoinandAisling Good job to do some homework. Virgin ranforest to be careful are the ones in the lowlands. Once inside, you cannot make out the outside world. I got lost once, it just took a couoke of minutes to realised that I was hopelessly lost! The girl had nerves of steel. She survived with just stream watet and very little food. She lost many2 pounds.
