For the safety of your luggage, the conductor will help you move to a safer train restaurant. It happened to me once before, and I later found it in another carriage. There is surveillance on the train, so you don’t have to worry about losing it.Business class is the most expensive and the best.You must experience business class next time, and you can take a short-haul business class travel. It will be a completely different experience. After arriving at the station early, there is a VIP room where you can wait for the train, which has many food and drinks. After boarding the bus, you can sleep in business class and have free food.
@pandabearoceanpark2 ай бұрын
Well, moving someone's luggage without telling the person is not a good practice - it leads to exactly this situation and why people are lining up half an hour in the queue trying to get a good spot for their luggages.
@LaylaLayla-wf9cy2 ай бұрын
@@pandabearoceanpark When they first boarded the train, there were many boxes in that place, so they had to put the box on the side of the alley. Maybe the train attendant thought that the box blocked the alley. So the attendant moved the box to another place. But they would definitely ask whose box it was before moving it. Maybe the couple didn't understand Chinese or didn't hear it. If you encounter this situation, just ask the train attendant.

China's rush mentality stems from recent history. A generation ago, many Chinese experienced starvation and scarcity. The mindset of "rush or miss out" persisted as a survival instinct. This rapid shift from scarcity to abundance within one generation underscores China's remarkable economic transformation.

Yeah the passenger rushing thing. It's about the mentality most likely. We used to travel in really crowded and badly organized trains a few decades ago and that was a time when people fought their ways to get the seats. Now everyone has a seat and most trains depart on time, yet some travellers still worry that they might lose their seats for whatever reason. Old habbits die hard i guess.

It's a really chaotic and stressful train tour. China has 1.4 billion population with at least 100 million on different transportation rides every day. Railway stations in big cities often see big crowd of passengers. It makes harder to keep everything in order
@waikeiauyeung27252 ай бұрын
As a Chinese, I do agree that my fellow countrymen really like to line up way before boarding time. I am also not sure why but I guess this is nationwide practices and habits. Getting a space to settle luggages coveniently should be one of reasons. But the key is those lining up early would also staying there calmly and patiently. There may be a few grannies jumping the queue, but usually people will give way to them. Cute things. Hope you enjoy your stay in China.
You have made the right choice to choose the 2nd class as the time spent on time is less than 3.5 hours. You can use this money to spend more on street food. :)

a lot of the 'rude' manners by western standards is generational I would say. if you been to china pre-2000, the infrastructure was not as built up and organized so if you wanted to go anywhere or do anything, you just had "to just go" and not try to be polite about it because there is just way too many people. just getting a metro ticket was pure chaos back then. the thing is, it wasn't considered 'rude' because everyone had to do it so manners is relative to each culture you can say. another factor is a lot of people you see in cities are not native but migrated from smaller rural areas just for employment. in these cases people just don't have the same level of education so things that are fine in a small village would be considered rude and uncivilized in urban areas. I think most people don't know that just 60-70 years ago, china was one of the bottom 10 poorest countries in the world, by gdp per capita so the legacy of this extreme poverty is still seen in habits today. those around 30ish or younger grew up in a much different china and are more exposed to western culture so you don't see as much of it with them.

I saw that you put your luggage behind the seat when you got on the train, which may have blocked the passengers from tilting the backrest, so the staff kept your luggage. When passengers couldn't see the luggage, they usually asked them, and finally you found it. Your luggage. Rest assured, no one can steal your luggage on a train in China or elsewhere. This is why there are many cameras, and they are responsible for security. But some Western media often demonize them. I wish you a happy stay in China. Love from Guangzhou.
