I totally agree with you about taking pride in storing away decorations. I label everything so it will be easy to locate for future Christmases and besides I have many different colors for various themed Christmas decor. I also make a lot of my decorations and I don’t ant them tossed about.

I used to take down my decorations right after new year but now the last six years I’ve been doing a Christmas village and I’ll leave it up at least till February. Sometimes even March and like you I store everything by color by what they are. I’m working on a new organization system because it’s getting a little out of hand. Love your videos. Love your decorations keep up the good work.

Our tradition is to take our decorations down on the 5th of January. Sometimes, I leave some stuff up to blend with my winter decor that stays up until I decorate for spring. I just love to sit a bask in the scenery a little bit longer. And I have so many bends with decor that I've had since our kids were young, and now they are all adults. But yes, I put all my decor away neatly as well.

Hi Karl, I always take down my Christmas after MLK birthday every year. My home has a detached garage the size of a 1-2 bedroom apartment. I have built-in shelves and stand-up tall shelves in my garage. I have red, green, and clear storage bins and label them by rooms. Because I decorate at least two of my bathrooms in my home as well for Christmas.I spent a lot of money at Pottery Barn this Christmas for decor, and I use the boxes my ceramic items was packaged in to store them properly, so they want get broken. hello beautiful,🥰🥰 happy new year, most of my decoration is down, we do the 6th of January, but I still have a few trees up, my crystal tree mainly is up and that's thanks to you, loved your Deor last year, so am enjoying mines a little more. maybe next month I will put the whole house back together or just wait for spring to start, TO turn the house over to spring season decor, and just like you I used bins also for storing safer & easier. my Christmas trees have their boxes that's a plus for me, have a blessed weekend 🤩😍🥰

Karl , you gave some great tips. A few days after New Year’s I took down my tree. It’s always a little sad and feels empty. I put a small olive tree and a painting where the tree was . I love it.

I usually take mine down a week before V day. I kept my tree for a whole year at one point. I do spend a lot of money on my tree. I love coming home after work and admire it. Still brings me joy till this day.

🍾🥂⭐Yes Sir!! That was LOVELY. You are the only person outside of myself that I know that uses packing wrap to protect & better store their trees. I use to use saran wrap until I lost my mom & had to deal with her home. I had left over packing wrap & it was on a larger spool & worked SOOO much BETTER!!! yes its amazing. I'm with you on taking time to store seasonal decor. Both my ridiculously expensive items & my inexpensive pieces. They last longer & easier to find exactly what I'm looking for. Especially since I change my theme but use my same pieces in rotation. Not everything gets used every year. ⭐Also when I found you a few months ago watching your 2023 🎄home tour- I didn't think you could top that. WELL DONE cause you certainly did!!! Great question. I take my Christmas decoration down the Day After Christmas is when I start. I don't have a problem with that. Because my Christmas décor goes up in October I have to do myself first for Christmas, so I can get my mindset. Ready for my customers in the month of November and December. Then I take them down after Christmas because I have to get ready. For Christmas conventions that start in the month of January so I have to have my mind set on a clean slate to look at the new decorations for the following year. The take down is a process.You have to store your christmas merchandise accordingly because it is an Investment Those items have to be packed accordonly because of the weather and other elements throughout the year.

I love my decorations, therefore I decorate early, the weekend after Thanksgiving. I take them down before the New Year. I'm not as meticulous as you are and don't have the resources to get a lot of containers to separate as you do. But, I do put ornamemts with ornaments, picks with picks etc. I am careful in taking them down and storing for the coming year. I so love watching you. Enjoy your content period. Watching...👁

Karl…just an idea for your garage. You might want to consider looking into California Closets. They would measure every minute space and design shelving for all the different size crates you have and designated shelves hidden behind beautifully curated cabinetry for your trees. There are some styles that can be dismantled for if/ when you move. Your decorations are like jewels themselves and should be on display even when not in use. I take mine down WHENEVER I FEEL LIKE IT!!! Whether it’s weeks or even months later!! It’s my decor and my home. I love to enjoy my hard work as well. My deceased parents wedding anniversary is Christmas Day and I reminisce on the memories of their life together as they both loved Christmas and the Lord ❤🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾. In Greece most people take their Christmas down after January 6th, which is the celebration of light (Jesus’s Baptism). I started taking the decorations down about 3 days ago but still have a lot to do since I decorate every room. I’m taking my time because I love it too much.

Hello Karl... It's Saturday January 25th and I'm now taking down my tree . I dont believe in myths because xmas is a short period and i love to enjoy my decorations . What is the point of putting up ; only to take down on NYE ? like you i take my time to wrap and store things neatly , because its very expensive to buy decorations in Canada and i dont want leftover picked apart crumbs . I normally take mines down January 3rd but this time I took them the day after Christmas because I was sooo over it & was so eager to get to the new year. Chile, I was tired of everybody’s bullshit & I’m not haven’t it for 2025. Also, I had a tree in my dining room, a real 9ft tree in the living room & my big daughters put up a pink tree in their room. I was so over all them dam trees.
