Just looking at your Navionics routing starting at around 6:25 in the video. I was sailing all around that same area in late Sept and early Oct 2019. We had two yachts doing a Greece Turkey run and we crossed from Greece to Turkey right were you are showing. Anchored for the night on the north side of Nimos, Greece and then went across the next day and checked into Turkey in Datca where we spent the night. We stayed a bit north of where you end up in this video for our Turkey tour and then headed back to Kos, Greece where the trip ended. Small World!!

I BELIEVE IF U WOULD HAVE PUT THE TURTLE IN THE WATER, THE TIC'S WOULD LET GO, THEY NEED AIR. WHAT WE DO IS USE HAND LOTION OR SOME TYPE OF CREAM TO CUT OFF THEIR AIR SUPPLY.
@ggoddkkiller13424 жыл бұрын
Yep, external parasite treatments are doing exactly that by chemically blocking breathing channels in ticks or other parasites.

I noticed watching your videos that your blue hull is aging and has faded quite a bit due to the Sun ? I have a way to repair this problem . This is a method I used in my many years at the family boatyard. Buy yourself a good vibrating sander and sand the hull with wet & dry sandpaper use as much water as you dare when sanding, be careful not to electrocute yourself. As to the type of and grit ? 3M , start with 800 grit then bump up to 1200 grit , at this point get a really aggressive rubbing compound 3M makes the best. The compound they make is called 3M Super Duty compound. Use a really good buffing machine with a wool 10” bonnet. If the shine doe not come up as good as you would like then bump up your finish sand paper to 2000 grit paper then apply the Super Duty compound. The hull should clean up pretty good and have a shine like a mirror. Good luck ! When applying water during sanding use a winded bottle to lightly apply the water , the water will not only aid the sandpaper’s but will help the paper last longer. This will save you a ton of money trying to fix the topsides . As long as you don’t blow through the blue gelcoat this type of fix should last for many years. Again good luck.

It was a bit of a struggle to get here, but worth it. About 5-6 weeks worth of supplies. Maybe more if we rationed better but after the main lockdowns, Turkey just started having mini lockdowns and curfews so we can move if needed.

Yes we are planning on crossing December this year. Already done our research and have a list of animal welfare organizations but There's a few things we need first that we are trying to organise first such as life raft, dodger etc. We are saving every penny so hopefully we can get there pending this Covid pandemic!

You aren't weirdos rather just lovely people who care about animals!! But sadly you were removing ticks wrongly as if you squeeze them their blood might run into the animal and greatly increase infection risk so you should just use a small fork or similar object and place it under ticks then pull upwards they will pop out easily with a minimum risk of infections. They aren't too harmful like they can kill animals etc but ofc no living thing likes those parasites so it was great seeing a graveyard of them😁😁
@SailingSunday4 жыл бұрын
Yes we were very careful, we got them all out OK without squeezing them, actually, we did break the head from just one but we got the head out also in the end to prevent infection... Poor thing, hopefully hes feeling a little more comfortable now!
