The first season of Big Little Lies was maybe the best thing to happen to television in the past five years. It's a smart take on the whodunit classic. All in all, the finale was packed with the appropriate tension and fun red herrings that fit the show perfectly and made for an incredibly satisfying conclusion

Thank you so much for using leon bridges and especially this song with an edit. I've loved it for the longest time and I feel it has such a potential for edits but people don't use it enough. And I feel like with tragic characters that go through a healing process, the song just hits all the points. Perfect for the show as well.

Vallée's style always borders on what I would call "instagram filmmaking" when it's not perfectly balanced out by the script. Unfortunately in BLL, it often gets very very instagrammy.... The second season is even worse though because the producers tried to force another director, who in my opinion is actually more talented than Vallée, to imitate his style. Some of the shots on the beach are the very textbook definition of false profundity... Bad soap opera with a sheen of peak TV "let's shallow focus everything behind the face of a very expensive oscar-winning actor". Still, in your position, one must try to give room to all trends in cinematography. Bravo à toi !

I know it's an unpopular thing to say, there are a few reasons I didn't like S2 as much as S1 and Meryl is one of them, I just didn't believe her. I didn't believe in Mary Louise, I just saw Meryl acting.
@bringiton52824 жыл бұрын
@Davi Feitoza 😂😂 The plot of S2 was less relevant anyway and another big thing that was missing was some great musical moments like in S1. Jane meeting her presumed rapist with Janis Joplin in the background. Nothing like it since !

I never seen this show, only parts of it, and I always felt the cinematography was different from other shows and possibly a technique that would bring a sense of realism to it, the depth of field, the focus and handheld, almost like documentary esc.
