The main problem with "orthodoxy" in general, is that it's a false, fake religion. Jesus founded his Church on St Peter, and NOT St Andrew. "You are Peter and upon this rock I found my Church..." (The orthos claim descent from St Andrew, the first patriach of Constantinople.) There is one true Church, the Catholic Church, founded by Christ, outside of which there is no salvation. Whatever problems the Catholic Church has right now, the gates of Hell shall not prevail over it.

Despite all the memes about Serbs basically being more militant Russians, they are actually a very kind and welcoming people. Serbs are probably one of the most prolific evangelizers of the true faith in my country, and the Serbian diasphora has brought many people into Christ's church. I am watching this from Germany and when I saw the great masses processing out in public I thought to myself "what is this world where a whole nation is still rooted within the faith". Such a sight is unthinkable here in Germany, even the handful traditional Catholics in the south could not go out in public like this without it causing a controversy. It must be wonderful to live in a nation where you know most of your neighbours truly live in Christ. What a blessed nation. May God work in Germany to bring us back to the true faith. Amen.

When Hagi Prodan's revolt failed in 1814, the Turks captured 300 prominent Serbs in the Nebojsha Tower (in the Belgrade Fortress). Every day they took the prisoners out and impaled them. When they took out Saint Avakum (Lepoje Prodanović from Knešpolje in Bosnia), they offered him to convert to Islam and save his life. He replied: "There is no faith better than the Christian one! The Serb is Christ's, he rejoices in death! And a terrible court awaits you Turks, so you do what pleases you! And soon the Turks will pay for they deeds, God is the witness and His justice!" Suleiman-pasha Skopljak was surprised by this answer and ordered the executioner to execute Avakum with a sword. May Saint Avakum, Saint Sava, Saint Simeon, Saint prince Lazar, Saint King Stefan of Dechani, Saint Vasilije of Ostrog, Saint Petar of Cetigne, Saint Petar Petrović Njegoš, the Holy Martyrs of Jasenovac and the Holy Martyrs of Kosovo protect all our Orthodox brothers and all Orthodox lands. Sigh. Too bad Jefferson and England didn’t intervene in earnest earlier. He was by supportive of knocking Islam down a peg after Tripoli, and the Turks were becoming reckless as they felt their power waning. Supporting popular Revolts among Christians could have changed the entire region and avoid much that went wrong in the world to this day.
@Свободаилисмерть-э8д2 жыл бұрын
@@eldermillennial8330 the presence of Turks in the Balkans was useful to some European powers, such as Austria-Hungary and England. When the Montenegrin Bishop Petar II Petrović Njegoš traveled to Vienna in 1850, he met with an English diplomat. He asked him: "How long do you English intend to keep dead Turkish hands on the Serbian neck?" It turned out that this intention lasts until today. In 1912, Albania was created to prevent Serbia from entering the Adriatic Sea. Before the formation of the Albanian nation, most Shiptars (Shiptar is the name for the inhabitants of Shiptaria - Albania, and Albanians is the international name) Muslims would answered by nationality with - Turk elhamdulilah (Turkish thank God). Shkodra (Serbian Skadar) was one of the oldest Serbian capitals but Austria-Hungary and England demanded that Montenegro surrender Shkodra to the newly formed Albania in 1913. If foreign diplomacy had not tried to forcibly draw borders in the Balkans by neglecting ethnic composition, the 1990s wars would not have happened. But here we are still in a stalemate where it seems that Albanians will have the right to 3 states (Albania, Kosovo and western Macedonia) but 2 out of 3 pure Serbian states have been forcebly declared states of fictional nations - Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro although the national idea of the Serbian people in them is still strong and clear. So we regularly have the opportunity to hear that the population of Montenegro and Bosnia is not Serbian. I, as a Serb who live in Bosnia, and my ancestors are from Montenegro, simply can't understand the hilarious idea that foreign factors are shaping our nation and say that we are something we are not.

@@Свободаилисмерть-э8д I sometimes listen to the Swedish political analyst, “Angry Foreigner”, as I find that autistic libertarians to be reliably honest men, however wrong they may or might not be about religion, and I’ll take any honest heathen over a hypocritical so called “Christian” in journalism. He keeps his real name a secret, but has admitted that it’s very typically Islamic sounding, for he is an ethnic “Albanian” (insofar as there is such a thing, as per your explanation), with an Islamic background, but is resolutely atheist now, a “Penn & Teller” sort of libertarian atheist. He was a “Refugee” as a kid when Sweden took him in, and very much embraced their secular lifestyle, and says that most older Albanian expatriates like his parents aren’t particularly devout Sunni, often wearing their identity as Muslims more as a badge of cultural pride than out of any sense of piety. Is that typical of most Albanians, even today?
@Свободаилисмерть-э8д2 жыл бұрын
@@eldermillennial8330 Most of today's Albanians are Muslims and as such they have Muslim names, mostly Turkish and Arab, but there are also Orthodox and Catholic Albanians, but their names are different from the Christian names of the surrounding peoples, Serbs, Greeks, Cincars and Vlachs. Although the majority of the population in Albania is Muslim, it is very difficult to say that they are Muslims in the true sense of the word. I live in Bosnia and Muslims in 90% of cases only formally say that they are Muslims because Islam is for them something what would separate them from Orthodox Serbs and Catholic Croats because we do not differ in any cultural, anthropological or linguistic sense. The only thing that sets us apart is religion. The situation with Albanians is no much different but we differ linguistically, culturally, and anthropologically. To them, Islam in most cases serves as a nationalist tool, not as a symbol of spirituality. All Muslims (Bosniaks) I know are not Muslims in the sense of adhering to Islam. They are only formaly Muslims. They drink alcohol, eat pork, do not pray 5 times a day, go to the mosque maybe 1 or 2 times a year and only on Eid. Eid serves them more as a kind of superstition and as far as I have had a chance to see, there is not much symbolic, spiritual or pious behavior. Slaughter a ram and distribute roasted meat to the neighbors with the words: "The more we give, the more" nafaka" (luck) we get". Yet despite all this, it is not uncommon to see a Turkish or Islamic flag among these people. I have read a lot about the spread of Islam in the Balkans and all available sources indicate that the absolute majority of the Islamic population was Islamized in waves during the 17th and 18th centuries. Individual and voluntary conversions to Islam are very rare. For the Turks, the Balkans were an unavoidable road to Central Europe towards Vienna. The story that Islam forbids violent Islamization is only formally true, but the Turks had to ensure that the local population became obedient, and the only way was to Islamize them. No war waged by Hungarians, Austrians, Russians and Venetians against the Turks passed without the participation of Orthodox Serbs. The first Turkish defter on the population of Bosnia was from 1463, and at that time the number of the Islamic population was less than 1%, and that percentage was actually brought by the Turkish army from Greece and Bulgaria. According to the defter at the time, the absolute majority of the population in Bosnia were Orthodox - Serbs and Vlachs. Another interesting phenomenon is that the Islamic population in Bosnia and Serbia still determines the time according to the Orthodox Christian holidays (from and to Easter, from and to Christmas, from and to the Epiphany, from and to St. Nicholas, etc.). Serbs are the only Christians who have the custom of celebrating the slava (Serb. slava/слава Eng. glory - family patron saint). The saint who my family celebrates is St. Nicholas, December 19 according to the Julian calendar. Every family celebrates slava, but they do not celebrate the same saint. Some celebrate St. George, some St. Nicholas, some St. Ignatius, some the Holy Trinity... Some Catholics and Muslims still have the custom of celebrating slava, which indicates that they originate from the Orthodox Serbian population. Of course, they do not want to admit it, but the facts work against them. Also, some Albanian tribes celebrate slava. For example, the Albanian tribe Klemendi celebrates the slava Pope Clement. This slava exists among Serbs originally from Morača region, and it has been scientifically proven that the Klimenti tribe originates from Serb tribes from Morača (today's Montenegro). Albanian tribes in northern Albania, such as the Hoti and Kastrati, are descended from the Serbian tribe of Kuči/Кучи (Eng Kuchy). The Kuči are a tribe that inhabits the area of southeastern Montenegro and once inhabited the north of Albania, especially the area around Shkodra. After centuries of Turkish occupation, they were Islamized, and from 1912 and the creation of Albania, their Albanianization began, which reached its peak during the communist rule of Enver Hoxha. My family comes from the Kuči tribe. The tribe is mentioned in the Dečani chrysostom of the Serbian king Stefan of Dečani in 1330. Although the tribe is of Slavic origin, this does not prevent Albanian nationalists from claiming that the Kuči are Albanians. The name Kuč is mentioned among the Baltic Slavs in the 12th century. Toponyms Kuč are found throughout Serbia, Northern Macedonia, but also in Russia, Poland and Ukraine. However, Albanians claim that the tribe is Albanian. The reason is their claim that the founder of a brotherhood of Drekalovići (formed in the 16th century) was an Albanian. It is about the ancestor of my brotherhood named Andrija (English would be Andrew) who converted to Islam to avoid blood feuds. When he converted to Islam, he took the Albanian name Lale or Ljalje, which means Andrew in Gege Albanian language, but on the first occasion he returned to Orthodoxy again and married the daughter of the duke of the neighboring Bratonozić tribe. From the 16th century until today, the Drekalović brotherhood has become the absolute majority in the entire Kuchi tribe. 80% of the members are Orthodox Serbs, the Islamized part declares differently. Some claim to be Albanians, some claim to be Bosniaks, and there are Muslims who have maintained their position as Serbs. This is just a small example of how Islam is used for the political purposes of nationalism.
@TheOneWh0Knocks2 жыл бұрын
@@Свободаилисмерть-э8д Hard to find any truths in any of your paragraphs. But for starters, let me ask you a simple question, what does the term kuq mean in Albanian? There are tribal names such as bardhi (white) ziu (black) and kuqi (red). Furthermore, the Geg Albanian variants of the name Andrew is Ndou/Nue/Ndue. So your assumption on the name lale is simply made up. Also your assumption that Albania is using Islam as way to define the nation is a blatant lie, or where do you see the word islam/muslim in this Albanian proverb: *Feja e Shqiptarit eshte Shqiptaria* - "The faith of the Albanian is Albanianism"? The correct terminology of Albanian is ShQiptar. The terminology you use without the Q is a derogative term used in the slavic language for Albanians. But you used it without the Q deliberately and wanted to pass it as a proper term. Also I can choose basically any religion I like the next day and still be Albanian, whereas you aren't serbian anymore without the orthodox faith. That is a privilege of Albanians that servs don't have. You as Muslim would be a Bosniak/Ethnic Yugo-Muslim. You as a Catholic would be a Croat. You as an atheist would be a yugoslav. Ergo, the Albanian nation is not bound by religion, but the serbian nation is. Interestingly, serbs are called shkijet/shkja in Albanian. It means "the one that speaks a foreign tongue" or "strange foreigner". There is also no Albanian terminology for the country of the shkijet, as they do not belong here. There is no "shkijavia". It's funny that you want to call out Albanian nationalism but you talk a good one about Albanians while using serb nationalistic talking points.

My introduction to Eastern Christianity was thanks to the Serbian Orthodox Church. I’m a Ukrainian Greek Catholic now, but nevertheless I would never have gone down the path of being Christian again without finding the beauty of the Serbian Orthodox Church or their ranks. Thank you for playing a part in my conversion from atheism. May God end our schism. ☦️ And shout out to St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church here in the Plano Texas area, and shout out to the channel “Bible illustrated” and it’s Serbian Orthodox creator Boyan of whom I’m most indebted to.

There’s no salvation in Uniatism. Become Orthodox, or become Roman Catholic. There’s no in between, and Uniatism is a farce that tries and fails to be just that. Join yourself to the one true Church and become Orthodox!

What is the icon called with what looks like a young man protected by an Angel of Justice from the snake that is encircling him, while a demon appears to be trying to get his attention, and which appears to have already entrapped other people, while the saints in Heaven look down from above? I haven’t seen that icon before and would love to see an English language version of it. Thank you, and please pray for me a sinner.

Hi , can anyone tell me about a prayer for the conversion unbelievers to the Orthodox faith. Plus which saint to pray to to ask for the conversion of non orthodox to the Orthodox faith? Christos Anesti to all.
@Мєтодипоискатєљ2 жыл бұрын
I do not know a prayer. But living the way Jesus told us to do and to show love and peace where there is hatred and distrust, that is a good beginning I think. Secondly, read about Orthodoxy, get to know all the aspects where the Catholics and protestants drifted away from early Christianity and carefully and patiently introduce the people to it. In their reaction you will se if they are ready for it or not.
