I was so engaged with the fight and thought the ahri TP was gonna seal the deal, but it stopped short, and i immediately turned to see the minimap and a lil rrat of a poppy scurry away from mid. The absolute game sense and presence of mind for Keria to stay mid just a lil bit longer won them the game.

I still find it crazy how well BLG played out the second last teamfight: - They make their two least important members push up to contest for vision, making Gumayusi walk towards them. - Jarvin gets a last second ult on Gumayusi, who has to Xayah ult to prevent a cc chain follow-up - Knight waits for the ult and charms on the descent to also force out the flash - Knight then ults to bait Zeus into committing on him but uses Zhonya's to prevent any follow up - Bin flashes the Poppy R, jumps over the Poppy E and manages to get cc onto Gumayusi despite the entire team comp being designed to protect him, while Elk dives in at the same time past all the peel. But all of that and it only took the four seconds of the teleport for T1 to completely turn the fight around.
@mattheww1930Ай бұрын
I think everyone thought in that moment that it was a T1 loss the moment Gumayushi went down. It's I think however the moment Knight missed his charm that T1 saw the opening and went for it, if they were even a second or two more patient, that would've ended very differently. Luckily for T1 they weren't and of course the Goat resurged.
@tb4076Ай бұрын
@@mattheww1930 Yup. I feel like if knight hadn't stepped up too far in midlane there, then they were in the driver's seat for the next engagement. The game was far from won, but they had the lead then. They could've just backed off or continued chasing after bin's TP was over. But that split second mistake from knight was enough of an opening for a cracked out faker to turn it around. Absolute cinema

In 2023, T1 played BLG in Swiss. BO3. They did end up playing all four LPL teams.
@DarkCyberElfАй бұрын
They did not, however, ELIMINATE all four LPL teams (as this was impossible in the format unless both they and BLG were 2-2). BLG was the last team they didn't eliminate, and at both 2023 and 2024 MSI were the team they simply couldn't overcome in a Bo5, and unlike JDG had yet to beat in a Bo5 internationally, as they beat BLG in a Bo3 earlier during the EWC this year. As of this year's World Finals, this roster has now personally eliminated 5 different LPL teams on their way to a Championship.

What I like about this series was that it was like a UFC Championship Fight by which BLG knocked down T1 to take round 1. T1 then retaliated by knocking down BLG and took round 2. BLG Scoring a takedown on T1 in round 3 and put the ground and pound until the bell rings. Game 4 and both fighters are exhausted, it's a toe-to-toe standup fight leaving both bloodied after the round but T1 edging BLG just a little bit. Round 5 and it all comes to down to pure grit. T1 knocks down BLG in the final seconds and lays down a hammer fist for the finishing strike before the referee stops the fight. T1 defends their title.

11:19 - The reason Guma/Keria decide to go back bot is two-fold. One, they may be trying to mindgame BLG's tempo yet again by guessing that Elk/On are returning top themselves expecting GuKe to laneswap immediately to top after Zeus clears the wave and they lose vision. The other reason could be simpler still: they think that from Level 3 they can play the 2v2 lane out now with access to all three skills now that Kalista's Level 1/2 advantage over Xayah/Renata isn't as prominent. Also, if they do end up matching 2v2 bot, this is better to defend Oner from invades based on where the Kindred mark spawns are likely to be, and this is better to defend Faker from roams because the jungle roam path for Blitzcrank is stronger coming from Blue-Side bot. 17:50 - ON doesn't "perfectly block" anything here, T1 are attempting to zero out the Rakan before Bin can get involved but their CC chain timing is slightly off with Gumayusi' Arrow being late. However, as Keria had just used his Q to soft-trade on Rakan, it's on cooldown during this attempted CC chain so it's unlikely it would have worked anyhow. 20:42 - "I honestly can't tell which is objectively better." Watching this game live, my assessment was that BLG's comp would live and die by whether they could quickly perform a "shock-and-awe" snap-engages on T1, either instantly killing their target or chunking them out before T1's reply. Jarvan was drafted to double-down on locking down Xayah (as he was the only remaining viable jungler who can this, with Vi not doing well into T1's comp) and guaranteeing a forced-Flash if done quickly before T1 can get into position. I thought Jarvan in particular is very risky here because his Cataclysm feeds into the CC chains of Galio/Poppy, and the projectile protection from Xin Zhao ult can also be tricky to play around for Knight/Elk. While there is also entirely too much AP damage on BLG's comp to deal with the Galio pick in an even gamestate, and while Knight would have liked to go Sylas to gain access to T1's strong ults, there is too much disruption on T1's comp so BLG opted to provide their comp with more pick-potential, a drafting decision T1 made during the TES series which was used to safely punish their frontline repeatedly. T1's comp is perhaps objectively better because it likely for BLG to overextend in teamfights trying to kill the Xayah as they lack the tankiness to absorb the AoE from T1 even if they succeed. In an even gamestate, it comes down to exploiting vision pockets to achieve numbers or HP advantages before objective fights for BLG, and for T1 it comes down to their choice whether to defend Xayah at all costs or counter-dive BLG and use their superior topside champion matchups to punish clumping. The reason why T1's 3v4 turnaround on BLG works is because 23:44 Knight's Charm-Flash is pixels away from hitting Oner and despite it not hitting BLG decide to continue chasing in order to strafe through mid to Baron. Faker takes advantage of the smallest window of a Flashless Knight overextending before Bin's arrival. Each of Faker's subsequent Galio E's hit Elk, the last at max range at the exact moment Elk tries to fit in an orbwalked auto. Friendly PSA: The word "doven" in English is not any existing conjugated form of the word "dove", so the context in which you're using it makes it grammatically incorrect.
@danielkang1560Ай бұрын
yeah game 5 blg comp is all trying to run into t1 and all of t1's champ WANT that to happen, blg is forced to engage onto xayah gragas galio where they can fully utilize their kits and punish them.

Its interesting that you thought that the game 5 draft was even. I thought it was insanely T1 favored. BLG is all about engage and T1 is all about counter engage. First pick Jax getting countered by gragas galio, picking Ahri into a bunch of tanky champions, Rell having an awful time vs the T1 comp, Xayah being an insane pick because of her ult being so good as a safety tool. Like I think if you are building liandries on ahri, you probably picked the wrong champion. Imagine playing T1's draft into Hwei or Asol. It woud be so unplayable. I get they're picking comfort, but I still think you gotta make sure your team comp doesn't have an insane weakness to counter engage.

After watching both teams struggle throughout the year to get to this point I got to see them both playing at the highest level. There were so many moments of intelligence as well as mechanical brilliance it was an absolute treat to watch. One of my favourite points that Poly didn't touch on was the drafting. The way that BLG drafted was the best I've seen anyone ever draft against this version of T1. The only flex pick they walked into the entire series was a Poppy. Admittedly, they had to give Keria Renata every time he wanted it to make it possible but together with the Varus bans they managed to prevent Keria counterpicks from ever becoming an issue and at the same time outdrafting on top side in most games. Also none of Zeus' more unorthodox picks ever got an angle, unfortunately that's relatively easy to prevent in a laneswap meta. In another timeline we would have gotten a showdown for the ages between Bin and Zeus, who both played extraordinary but were held back by being on the receiving end of punishment resulting from laneswaps.

Slight mistake at 1:00 sure T1 didnt face BLG in Quarters/Semi/Finals but T1 did face BLG I think during Swiss where they 2-0 them. In way they still ran the LPL Gauntlet BLG(2-0) > LNG(3-0) > JDG (3-1) > WBG (3-0) other than that I enjoyed your video. So which champs do u think that will get the skins lol ?

I don't think Yagao BLG beats T1 at worlds in 2023

8:02 I believe they were intending to rush Herald but right as Faker tp's Herald got reset losing the chance to burn it down before BLG could stop them

great video. I'd love to see more breakdowns of series like this. I think you give a bit too much credit for some plays though lol. A lot of their genius is instinctual after playing thousands of hours of this game

16:55 I think the moment Elk commits the Ziggs W early, Faker knew the others were at base since if the the two were still around, the W is vital for the cc chain

Faker's Galio taunt gives me TI8 OG Ceb chills. What a legend.

I am far from a pro player nor am I a good analyst, but the moment I saw Bin TP to the ward in the second last fight, I immediately screamed in my heart that T1 need to notice that and re-engage the other three BLG members now or lose the game. I am fvcking glad they did right away.

I do sincerely believe that poppy ult last game was THE mvp of that game

Huge Respect to BLG though, they're not just all talk, they're a very formidable team and gave us an amazing finals.

tbh the fact that Guma died from the same cheese twice in a row actually surpised me and made me second guess myself

This is a long shot but in the T1 GenG game where they 3 man dove Zeus's Gragas with Skarner, ziggs, and leona, can someone explain how skarner took tower aggro? I don't see what he did to draw it

I'm honestly not sure either, I was gonna make a video about that series so I'll look into it soon

Burn from red buff or something??
@codino97Ай бұрын
good video, just a quick note, it was t1 vs the lpl not because of semis, but it was dubbed during quarters since t1 vs lng was the last game of quarters and at the time the 5 teams in the competition were t1 and the 4 lpl teams, eventually they beat lng and then it was t1 vs the 3 you mentioned. Also t1 beat blg in worlds 2023 in swiss 2-0 in a bo3

When i saw Smolder I stopped believing for a second it took luck and all of Faker skill to win with thaf draft there was no engage in the side of T1
@vinogr00nko93Ай бұрын
honestly BLG deserve a lot of credit for that Game 5 teamfight, they were HARD outdrafted and yet they managed to find the only possible angle on Guma and get him despite all odds T1's comp was all about Guma having 4 bodyguards and yet BLG managed to avoid all 4 of them they found a timing when Faker wasn't close enough to ult and had to TP, they all-inned Guma and forced his Ult+Flash leaving just cleanse left, Oner went on ON and with just Keria and Zeus left, Knight ulted in and instatnly Zhonyad, baiting in Zeus to engage on him leaving Guma alone, Bin perfectly flashed Keria's ult and jumped on Guma allowing Elk to go in genuinly impressive they managed to break through T1's defense, luckily for T1 they just had an amazing draft and Faker's engage on Knight was so clutch

They drafted comfort but no early game dmg, Jax and Kaisa needed time to scale and Elk reaction was a little 💀 (he did very well series wise though)
@tb4076Ай бұрын
@@CCLethe I think that was exactly what the jarvan was for (in theory) but it didn't look good at all.
@crudojoshuaricofort8795Ай бұрын
@@CCLethe t1 baited them to draft bin's jax, BLG thought T1 had no answer to it but t1 draft was a perfect neutralizer to that jax. Bin did nothing that game, and considering how overhyped his jax was, it did not deliver

13:21 Faker limit testing even for 1 cs. Also, the timing has to be right after the E hits to get it. 16:58 Faker knows that they reset because Elk used his W the moment Faker walked up and faked pressure. It's just full on mindgames from Faker Just finished watching. Really love this type of content from you, your touch of editing tickles my brain just right

8:30 well, the only difference between a play and an int is whether or not you make the other team confused enough to not punish you immediately, and, as the consequence, whether or not you success.
