A masterclass in filmmaking and probably the most grounded superhero film ever made! It was all I wanted from the film, a slow paced gritty and dark atmospheric Neo noir detective mystery action thriller on the lines of some of the greatest films like seven and zodiac that never over or under does by keeping everything simmering but is absolutely immersive and delivers all what it's sets out to do. A masterpiece indeed! It offers something fresh to the Batman mythos by not being a Batman thriller but is a thriller with Batman elements! And I was so elated watching Pattinson being Battinson. The Cinematography is Gorgeously Captivating that keeps us stunned for most of the times while making sure to give us chills. The score is so epic and very heroic at the same time, literally one of my favorites. The insane color grading of red, orange and black goes very well with the neo noir toning of the film and that Halloween background is just a catalyst to it! Loved your Tribute on it, Do check out Mine too!

the "Feel" of this film is something that keeps coming back to me, yet I struggle to explain it. The movie just captured such a consistent mood throughout, which matches with the story and Gotham perfectly. So refreshing when many films are carbon-copies of one another, trying to capture the same feeling as Marvel movies for example (because they sell well), rather than sitting down and crafting an experience for the audience that you can't get anywhere else. I just feel like they did that so well here, and considering the screening I went to had some giggling hyenas from The Lion King in the back row, yet I still got drawn in to the vibe they created, it's pretty impressive.

I haven't felt so connected with a fictional character in a long time, until I saw this movie. Something about Pattinson's Batman that shows the human side of the Caped Crusader really got to me. The internal fight that he had throughout the film, the deductions that made him find out more about himself, and finally the symbol of hope that he gave to the city (despite him saying that the city is "beyond saving" but that he "has to try") really connected to me. Growing up, becoming an adult, going through many hardships to find a job, have stability with my family, and overall the "mask" that I have to "wear" whenever I'm outside with friends or peers is something that I can correlate with Pattinson's Batman. He' s a broken man, but through the movie, he grew and became not only the hero that the city deserves, but the hero that he deserves for himself. This is gonna be a movie that I will watch and watch over and over again.

Greig Fraser is an above average cinematographer. Many criticize its overly dark and unnatural photography, but I find it charming. He gave The Batman the necessary tone of mystery, in addition to further highlighting the moments where the film is visually more prepotent. I think "The Batman" fully grasps the idea of who Batman is in the comics. A vengeful detective, whom strikes at night; you don't get that in Dark Knight - mainly because Dark Knight is more of a story about Joker than it is Batman. Dark Knight is an amazing movie, and it is only more memorable because of Joker, not Batman. Heath Ledger's performance made that movie, not Bale's. Bale is easily the best Bruce Wayne, but his Batman lacks. I think Pattinsons' Bruce Wayne lacks, but he is the definition of Batman, he based his lust for vengeance (being batman) on his parents' death, and he is a detective; both of which, are comic accurate. Not to mention, I personally think "The Batman" cinematography was better than "The Dark Knight" It is close however. It really is just an opinion, but I think "The Batman" is better by a hair.

During the distribution of The Batman, I heard Batman fans claim that this umpteenth DC hero film was an outrage to the superhero. I've seen Batman (Burton), Snyder's batman, the Dark Knight trilogy, and I have to admit I was skeptical about the outcome of the about fan movie. The initial bias of many made this latest Batman movie of poor quality, but after reading the comics, I think it largely harks back to Miller's dark and gloomy atmospheres all the way to detective / investigative soul with Gordon and the justicier "Steel Wing" and for this reason he is one of the most loyal Batman to comics. After all, superheroes like Batman are very enigmatic and can be interpreted in various ways by the authors. To say that after the Dark Knight trilogy there will be no more equals is wrong. The character reforms, resizes in new contexts, including social ones. Great video as always! You always represent the essence of movies!

That dirty look it has, with the distortion yet the beauty of it. They did a masterful job with the cinematography and the creativity with those messed up lenses

This feels like an excellent music video for Something in the Way. Wonderful edit. Yes this film is a cinematic masterpiece probably the most visually beautiful blockbusters, rivals Blade Runner 2049 and Dune. I especially like the aesthetics, a very dystopian mix of Blade Runner cyberpunk and traditional Gothic and industrial architecture, probably the best live-action depiction of Gotham city (Yes I know a lot is shot in Liverpool)

I can't express how grateful I am that you used Something In The Way for this video; the cinematography's tone is captured perfectly by that song. I hope this video blows up - you're amazing.

The Batman was one of the best theater experiences of my life. I was in awe the whole time. Watching it in IMAX was even better. Especially during the Bat-mobile scenes which made the whole theater I was in and the seats shake. It was a life changing experience, and it is the most beautiful Batman film I’ve ever seen. I have not one complaint

I was getting feeling of watching Harry Potter and deadly hallows because it's so dark and lack of light which is intentional was really well done but I would have loved to see more of the club scene type of lighting where Catwoman walks some of the best lighting and cinematography was in those shots

The problem with doing one of these for The Batman is that every shot is as jaw-droppingly amazing as the last, and you can't just play the whole film

The entire setup around the revving of the engine before the chase was so well done. I’ve never been more intimidated by a damn car before.

This movie really got robbed at the oscars. It should have been nominated for best cinematography and it should have won. (Not that the cinematography of All Quiet at the Western Front wasn't marvellous too, but this film was unparalleled)

I’m a movie critic, but being a massive batman fan, there was that feeling in me that told me not to review this, so I watched it, and I immediately gave it a 10/10 on Imdb from the first time I saw the riddler in the shadows, that almost made me shat my pants while also pissing at the same time, this is a legendary film, thx matt reeves for actually understanding batman
@mikaalamini79252 жыл бұрын
Fun Fact: You can actually see the riddler at the top right corner of the frame at 2:40!
