Tumbbad is one of the finest movies to have come out of India in the last 10-20 years. It's an amazing feat that the makers pulled off a near perfect Horror, fantasy movie in a land like India where the genre is often overlooked. That too with a limited budget.

This is India's problem, they never support art films and independent cinema. they just watch their stupid masala movies I am not a fan of RRR at all, that movie might be new to foreigners but for me it was same repetitive and predictable movie which I have seen many times before in Indian cinema Just like Americans are tired of the repetitive storyline of American super hero movies and their self aware and chicky characters, I am also tired of the same, predictable storyline and these demi gods type characters of Indian MASALA movies but one advantage of success of RRR It is that the audience outside came to know about Indian cinema, so now they will also watch and support underrated films like tumbaad.

Unpopular opinion but rrr was no other than those commercial sort of movies.. sure it had some genius cinematic shots, but it was a rather style over substance movie. It did touch the aspects of friendship, used the symbolism of lord Rama but trivial fighting scenes, incorporation of overly trivial and mass audience appealing things in their already good story redid the good in it.. I wouldn't call it a terrible movie, but I wouldn't call it a good movie either

It took 6 years to make this movie, ive heard a instance where creator waited a whole year just for the monsoon season, cuz they didn't get a desired shot of rain previous time. Other reason of taking such long time is the budget , this is a independent movie, its a dream project for dir and lead actor, so they sell some of there properties after that also they're lacking in budget, so the actor would work in other flims and bring his salary for the shot, and you can see the effort the creator have putted in the movie. It was a profitable business but didn't make the money it deserved, but now, it is a cult classic in India.

On a certain level, we have a drug store in our brain, the neurochemicals that show up in flow: so dopamine, norepinephrine, anandamide, endorphins, and serotonin. If you were to try to cocktail the street drug version of that, right, you're trying to blend like heroin and speed and coke and acid and weed- and point is, you can't do it. It turns out the brain can cocktail all of 'em at once, which is why people will prefer flow to almost any experience on Earth. It's our favorite experience. It's the most addictive experience on Earth. Why? 'Cause it cocktails five or six of the largest pleasure drugs the brain can produce. We're all capable of so much more than we know. That is a commonality across the board. And one of the big reasons is we're all hardwired for flow, and flow is a massive amplification of what's possible for ourselves.
