on the point of hiring people unfamiliar with the source material i think it’s varied sometimes you get something like fallout where the creator is a huge fan and everybody loves it and sometimes you get the witcher or halo where the production encourages everyone to stay unfamiliar with the source material and that’s usually a big indicator on whether or not the project will be successful. suits have no creativity so they think of everything from a dollar perspective so they usually want to keep the movie as accessible for anyone as possible but when they do that they usually take away a lot of the aspects that makes the property unique and fun and it ends up being some generic movie that nobody likes rather than an adaption for fans and newcomers alike

i think it’s funny whenever people say the motivation for scarlet witch in mom was bad cuz it makes no sense to do all that for imaginary kids but what people are forgetting is that she’s a woman and doesn’t have any sense. like obviously it doesn’t make sense to someone that’s logical but when has a woman ever used sound logic. she’s not killmonger or loki her motivation in the movie was more realistic than it was justifiable
