Anime Awards are FOR SURE a popularity contest. Just like Hollywood's awards. I totally enjoy what you guys said about the manga adaptations. If you can't keep the "heart" of the story, and ride on the coat tails, then I hate that work. It is like book to movie, right? Like if you can't maintain the soul of the story and just make things up and do things that aren't something that fits right, then the movie is ruined. I want animated versions of major scenes or like what you talked about with Demon Slayer and taking one frame and extending it beautifully. Solo Leveling to me is an example of a crowd-pleaser. Is the base material pretty empty? Yup. Definitely. But they also chose a Korean manwha that has anti-Japan content...and they chose to make the anime based on the Japanese rewrite and then they are actively releasing completely different versions to China and Korea because Japanese content is HATED. We also get basically exact from manwha rather than getting those scenes but maybe better written or just more added to them. Keep this up, I really enjoy your takes and insights!

worst manga to anime adaptation is claymore (kinda like a softer berserk) but THEY RUINED THE ANIME i already knew how it was gonna finish without actually finishing (obviously read the manga) but it was SHIT
