For a real treat, find the video of them singing To Love Somebody from 1967. Mo belts it out with backing vocals - just for a bit, but he kills it. They all had huge ranges and could all easily sing falsetto. Mo is underrated because he wasn't out front much, preferring to play more than sing. But boy, wherever Robin and Barry needed filled in, he did it perfectly. That's a real talent and ability.

I have always loved the Bee Gees in all of their forms. Their music is timeless and their albums are fantastic. TWO YEARS ON, TRAFALGAR, MAIN COURSE, SPIRITS HAVING FLOWN, ESP and all of the others are special to me. Still, they did three musical transition albums that I consider their best; ODESSA, MR. NATURAL and LIVING EYES.

The problem with a lot of people not liking The Bee Gees is because they don’t like the disco era and they think Bee Gees as disco. What they don’t understand is that The Bee Gees had 5 decades of writing songs and performing. They wrote over 1000+ songs for themselves and for other top artists. The Bee Gees disco period was basically just their Saturday Night Fever Album. Most of their albums are R&B, Pop, Soul, Soft Pop. Barry Gibb is second only to Paul McCartney as a prolific songwriter. The Bee Gees are regarded as one of the most important and influential acts in pop-music history.❤❤❤❤

People were sick of disco and bee gees by the late 70s. The sound of the eighties involved glam rock, rock, pop, with synthesizers and electric drums. By the end of 80s people were tired of that and grundge came along. Lets not forget hip hop and rap which ruined music. Today u have garbage music. Now ai will take over

Their ultimate masterpiece as far as I'm concerned. Really difficult to sing live - as Mo said they all liked the song, but 'it was a 'b*tch to sing' lol! Competing falsettos at the end of that one which they all could do easily.

Their past is here, there and everywhere. Yesterday, today, tomorrow and so on, up to eternity! Lil story: when I bought the album 'Maincourse' in 1975, as soon I could get it, I listened again and again to the songs 'Jive Talking', 'Nights On Broadway', 'Fanny Be Tender', 'Baby As You Turn Away' and 'Wind Of Change'. Well, also to the other songs, but the difference is, they could have also been on albums before. The five above were setting a new style: Funky rockin' and smooth R&B was onboard. New and so fresh. And by hearing the high voices, I knew nothing about falsetto. First thought was there must be some background-ladies involved, by the end of 'Nights On Broadway'. But then came 'Fanny'.... and also 'Baby....' Brought me to the idea, Maurice must be the one, singin' all those high pitched notes so he always sang the third voice in their choruses, high but not in this category. Then inhaling helium came to my mind but no, I said to myself, they never will use tricks. So I had to find out what's going on and after some days I knew it. Also, that it's mainly Barry, singin' that way. But here, in this live-presentation, it's Maurice, taking that part in perfection. Just like his basslines, which are phenomenal.

@@lydmarl.475 The groups name was originally The BG's - contrived from the common initials between Barry Gibb, Bill Goode, and Bill Gates. The name then evolved from The BG's to the Bee Gees which eventually came to mean the Brothers Gibb!

This was off of their "comeback" R&B album "Main Course" from 1975. It was successful and they continued to write and record in the R&B mode (which later was transformed into a dance/disco sound). Barry's falsetto at the end of this particular song is where the path to the Bee Gees' future mega-success was paved. They decided the sound was so effective that he should use it on more songs ... and the rest is history.
