It took me about a week to get it down but it’s one of the songs that even though I can play it, it’s still powerful emotionally. So many songs you get tired of listening and learning you play it over and over while learning to play. This song still resonates within me even after learning to play it.

@maelilmc40793 жыл бұрын
In fairness the falsetto was a relatively short period when you consider they started in the 60s and Barry is still recording now. I saw an interview with them in which Barry himself says he felt it was overused and, against his better judgement he was persuaded to use it, Robin said yes, we wanted you to use it because it sold records. I thought that was interesting as it was said that Robin was very ambitious and driven by sales. That remark confirmed it.

Even during the Falsetto period you still get to hear him Alternate between the two. And to be fair his Falsetto was amazing as they go. most people have very little dynamic control of their Falsetto. Barry on the other hand had total control and could seemlessly Got to and from it to his Chest Voice. The way he used it a better term would be Head Voice.

Hard to believe this was first released in 1967. The Bee Gees, Robin especially wrote some truly timeless lyrics. Barry, Robin and Maurice wrote this song together.

There is so much heart in these three. Imagine three souls deciding to come together to gift this world with thier music. They were meant for this and we ALL are grateful. When I casually starts listening to a Bee Gee song, I know I'm having a good day. Thank you God for your infinite love ❤️

You couldnt add nor take away one word to this song. Its perfect. One of my favorites. This is the blues. A man confessing his love. A one sided love song. The emotion. The pure truth. The completeness. The absolute. What a song. What a composition. The story of my life. You dont know, what its like, to love somebody, the way i love you....

There's a light Some kind of light That never shone on me I want my life to be lived with you Lived with you There's a way everybody say To do each and every little thing But what does it bring If I ain't got you, ain't got? You don't know what it's like, baby You don't know what it's like To love somebody To love somebody The way I love you In my brain I see your face again I know my frame of mind You ain't got to be so blind And I'm blind, so, so, so blind I'm a man Can't you see what I am? I live and I breathe for you But what good does it do If I ain't got you, ain't got? You don't know what it's like, baby You don't know what it's like To love somebody To love somebody The way I love you You don't know what it's like, baby You don't know what it's like To love somebody To love somebody The way I love you You don't know what it's like, baby You don't know what it's like To love somebody

@@lauraallen55 How much did Robin really help, though?
@lauraallen556 ай бұрын
He didn't 'help'. It was co-written by Robin and Barry. They co-wrote a lot of songs. Both Robin and Barry wrote some on their own too. Why would you think that Robin didn't have anything (or much) to do with writing this song (or any of their songs for that matter)? @@BGWhisperer
@BGWhisperer6 ай бұрын
@@lauraallen55 Because even Robin admitted that Barry was the songwriter. He said that he was lucky to be in the same family as one of the greatest songwriters of all time. Other musicians knew who the songwriter was. They’d always come to Barry and ask him to write them a song. Stigwood would come to Barry. He’d know. And just from observation, how he took complete responsibility and control of the whole songwriting process, for instance, the making of Tragedy video. Guess that’s what made him a successful producer, too. Yes, the others wrote several songs where they took lead, but judging from the way Barry drove things, and the fact that humble Barry never hesitates to accept the songwriter title, I suspect he drove most of it, with contributions from them, like some lyrics, suggesting he go another direction, etc. Often Robin couldn’t even be bothered to be involved. Maurice, too. Robin said Barry was the soul of the Bee Gees. That’s the leader, the one with the passion, belief, vision, dedication, abilities. Barry could just pluck songs out of the air, he said, and other people said. I’m sure the others helped color many of the songs. Barry has always enjoyed collaborating.

@@kthor Oh good grief!!! She got that three legged stool stuff from a Barry hater off of a message board on here or maybe Instagram. I read the same thing. Just can't remember where. Why do they say these crazy things? They all know that it's not true but they have to rewrite history to make Robin look as good as Barry. I saw what was going on back then and it was never like the Barry haters claim it was. It was stated back then that Barry got 40 percent and the twins 30 percent each because Barry wrote most of the songs and more or less was the leader of the group. He had a lot of responsibilities that the twins never wanted to have so it made sense. I don't know if those figures ever changed in later years but back when they started out that's what they all received..
