The candle holder that has a bracket and free swinging candle holder part is meant to hang on the wall. Hang the flat part on the wall and the candle holder should swing into position so you can put a candle in it. Thanks for showing your studio to us. It made me feel wonderful because my space looks exactly the same and I was feeling soooooo guilty. Not any more! Can’t wait till my husband watches the video so he know I’m not unique in having the clutter bug in my space.

I loved this episode so much! Very inspiring and validating. I often keep things in the trunk of my car or in bags from Goodwill in my garage and bring them into the house one at a time and try to photograph and list everything before unloading the next bag. It's not a perfect system and I do have shelving in the garage for things hat aren't a good fit for selling right away for whatever reason, but I try to keep the majority of inventory out of our living space (not always easy!). I also do a clearance sale once a month to get rid of items cluttering up my shelves and it always feels good to get that stuff out and make space for new finds.
@AllPutTogetherАй бұрын
I totally think I should be doing clear out sales more often than I do too.
@laurahazel688420 күн бұрын
I also do the "one bag at a time" method. It is so much more manageable and less overwhelming. My rule is every. single. item gets inventoried, cleaned, priced and tagged, ready for my booth, then stored in the appropriate area/ bin. I use clear bins, with a copy of the inventory, front and center. No guesswork, easy-peasy to grab for my weekly booth reset and fluff. Then I go back to the car, rinse and repeat.

Loved this video so much!!! Thank you!!! And, about some of your items that aren't maybe "up to par", like the stool with not so cute upholstery- well, I say, go ahead and try to sell them as is, being open about damages, etc. Maybe openly refer to it as a project piece. I've gone ahead and listed a few things like this, priced accordingly, and they've sold surprisingly quickly. I was actually considering making a "dents and dings" section. I mean, I'm not purposely sourcing imperfect items, but I seem to always have some on hand. Anyway, just an idea. But anyway, l loved this video!
@kathleenproctor5207Ай бұрын
Great video! A couple of thoughts about saving things for the future you: 1. Does the thought of getting rid of the item make you sick to your stomach? If not,sell it now. 2. Imagine the room where the item would look good. Can you see yourself living in that room? If not then sell it now. 3. How difficult would it be to find similar items in the future if you sold the items you have? If not difficult, sell them now. Styles/ trends change. By holding onto the item do you run the risk of missing out altogether? If so, sell it now. 4. Is it in pristine condition now and will storing it for an indefinite time create the possibility that it will get damaged and less valuable? If so sell it now. Your studio is lovely. Someday you must give us a longer tour of your collections!

I lol so many times during this video. Everyone of us experience the same things, constant challenge of sorting organizing, and keeping ourselves in check. The best thing I ever did was to move into a smaller space, simply no room for large pieces, I have everything pretty much contained to a couple of closets with shelving. I now sell only on line which really helps keep inventory in control. Bigger wall art I simply hang it in my walls until it sells, in fact I blend a lot of pieces into my personal decor. So far its working. I recently purchased a project piece and instantly regretted it, it will simply never happen. Great video, you have such a natural ability to be funny without trying. Look forward to your "packing video".

To make things less overwhelming once you identify old or unusable things throw them away right then and there (acrylic paints). Then that task is done! I have 3 lists in my phone for today, must do, and nice to have. For example, I would put the acrylic paint color you need in the nice to have list like hobby lobby - green acrylic paint then if you see one you can get what you need, but can let go of it in your mind as ANOTHER task! Hope this helps I am so ADD and found doing this helps me finish things (only putting 1-2 things max to get done today). I LOVE watching your videos!!!

Well, even though your space will get messy again (and again), it looks fab now! I've been renoing my dining room into my hard goods inventory room. I'm in the process of plastering the ceiling after scraping the popcorn out, but it's such a pain in my neck, literally. People that walk past my front yard, probably think I'm a hoarder, bc I've shoved everything into the living room until the new room is finished. I'm downsizing and most of my inventory is from my home. Hopefully, some day I'll sell it all including this huge house and find a small house and land in the woods!

You are adorable and your approach is spot on. Make your space attractive to You! It's your personal nest. I have 26 large bins in which I store all my items which are lightly wrapped in bubble wrap. Each bin is designated with a letter A-Z and I have an inventory book showing where each item is located. Booth directed items need to be in your garage (closest to the car) You could set up your shipping department on that wonderful island! Projects? Do 1 a week. You are blessed to have a garage, I do not. I can happily walk into my office with NO clutter. Therefore, less stress. You did a great job on your studio. It is a happy place again. Not everyone's system will work for everyone. You go girl

I’m going through the same thing right now. My reselling life is currently taking up two guest rooms and a bonus room. I can’t keep it going like this. I recently purchased 4 tall bookcases to help organize my inventory which helps, but I’m afraid my system is out of balance-way too much sourcing and not enough organizing. I know I have sourcing FOMO which drives me to bring more stuff in before the old stuff goes out. Ultimately, I need to learn to deal with all of my inventory before I source more product. What I really need is Ozempic for resellers to curb and control my inventory appetite! 😂

Sometimes you don’t realize how little clutters in your living or working space contributes to your mood and the well being of your mental and emotional health. If you look at it from a Feng Shui perspective, it may also block your financial flow and blessings. But life happens and it’s not always easy to stay on top of it. I think you’re doing great Andi!

One of the reasons I closed my storefront, it gave me too much space and I just couldn't keep up with all of my inventory and it was affecting my wellbeing, so I am in the process of scaling down and pretty much giving a lot of away just so that I can get back on track. Overhead can be a huge stress, and that includes inventory as well as expenses. I'm running a business, not a museum, so stuff that has been around way too long has to go.

Great video. I’m a reseller on Etsy and you validated a few things that I do and am trying to change. Number one is buying something because it’s a good deal but it really doesn’t excite me to do the work to list it. It then just sits. I have storage space issues, so this is something I’m working hard on. Now I hold the item before buying and ask myself “does this piece excite me enough that I’d want to go home and list it NOW? If the answer is no, it’s likely not being purchased. I also feel guilty getting rid of items that I’m not listing or need work, etc. I’m getting better about donating them. I also give some of my reseller friends items if they want them. Thanks again!

2024 was a slower year than 2023 for my vintage booth and I didn’t adjust when I realized that was the case. I have spent the last 6 months moving my current stock and slowing the buying. Amazing space! Your little corner filming area does not do it justice at all! (I vote for changing your filming backdrop to the shelf area; the art wall behind you now is kind of color overload for me). I do think you have a lot of wasted space that could be used for storage, especially the short wall under the windows. That entire span could be used for short open shelving or short closed cabinets like you can get at Ikea. Also your room corners could use some tall shelving. All the additional shelving would add more zones and make it easier to stay orderly. But overall I LOVE your space!

@@katiebrown7617 I find that is true. I had a friend who hated to cook but had 4 children. To eliminate the daily dread of cooking, she and one of her friends would get together once a week to prep and cook the whole weeks meals which they would refrigerate or freeze. They looked forward to their day together every week.

The only organized reseller I know is Lavender Clothesline. The rest of us live in chaos!

This is why my husband asked me not to do this. So I quit immediately. I had only sold for a few months. He put everything I had in a box and put it on the top shelf in our garage. It’s still there 25 years later.
