Most people I've seen aren't very good at using the mount. But to me the mount was legit hacks for any mobs, the Knights of any area, any mounted enemies or the troll enemies and especially the Tree Avatars.... to the point that I kinda felt bad for using it my first run especially by the time I decided I started exploring Caelid.... And it definitely made that one space bull enemy in mount gelmir super easy, I forgot his name. 🤣 Was it Fallingstar beast? Can't be 100% on that. Before I knew it I stopped using the mount cuz I felt I was just skipping and cheesing everything.

Sometimes a boss is easier to fight if you can use Torrent to cheese out of their attacks, letting you hit and fade (dragons especially are almost unbeatable without him because they just fly away from you, look at you, then reduce you to ashes with a massive gout of flame). But other times he's a liability because he completely reduces your defensive options to only "run away" or "jump over". You can't dodge while mounted, you can't block, and you're extra easy to stagger or knock down because Torrent has his own stability and it's not high.

A couple things for not-Shen folks *That archway thing you see on the left side of the screen, above the items, means you can summon a pet. It costs FP to do so, but they can give you an edge in battle. You won't get any flak from me, at least, for doing it. You can get the thing to let you summon those pets by visiting that first chapel at night. *There exists a tool in Limgrave to make Margit's fight... somewhat easier. It's still not simple, and I'm sure as heck not going to tell you where or what because it's literally in the item description, but it exists.

In addition to the spirit summon pets mentioned, some require health to be summoned instead of FP. These summons tend to be stronger, however they are better hidden and can only be reached in later stages. one of which is the Mimic Tear summon, which was nerfed but it still stong.

45:20 theres a dodge rule in this, apparently side rolls will dodge those straight out attacks but rolling away they can still reach you. So for example imagine if all the attacks are an axis left to right up to down back to forward. or a combination of those pairs. all of them can be dodges a specific way, except charge and jumps. charge and jumps are generally AOE's to force you into a position.

So for those of you who might be struggling against the Grafted Scion in Stormveil Castle, one good strategy is to poke it a little, then run through a doorway that the Scion can’t fit through, then when’s it has lost interest in you run up and poke some more; just rinse and repeat till it’s dead. Especially effective if you hit it with magic or arrows as you can stay closer to your doorway and risk less of your health.

The death threshold for falling cannot be affected at all by double-jumping or anything like that. You will ALWAYS die from a fall higher than twenty meters, and you'll take damage from a fall higher than sixteen meters. If you're like me and I can't figure out heights for the life of you, use Rainbow Stones to test out the height of any fall. Toss one over the edge, and if hits the ground without breaking, you'll survive the fall! If it shatters though, it's a fatal impact.

So, there's no point in trying to help Shen at this point since she's about 150 hours further into the game from these streams, but for anyone else who doesn't know- LEVEL YOUR FREAKING VIGOR. You HAVE to in this game. This isn't bloodborne where you can get away with 12-15. Endgame, you should be shooting for a minimum of 40-60 vigor. Level up that bad boy or you're gonna get one-shot by everything. There are bosses that will OHKO you at 40 vigor if you're not careful further into the game.

Every elden ring video episode 1 I watch is a death montage against the tree sentinel for a big portion of the video. There will be a i give up, i will come back. a vow not to fight it again and then a going back and fighting it anyway then eventually defeating it. I know this video is like 2 years old now, but for those who either don't know or met Blaidd afterwards the bloodhound knight is infinitely easier with Blaidd! I'm nowhere near Shen's level of skill at this game and was able to beat him first try by summoning Blaidd! Either that or I just got super lucky 😅
