This is one of those albums where you just feel like today is the last day of humanity and you spend that last day making beats with your friends.

I love how the rise of rap sub-genres are closely mirroring the exact rise of rock sub-genres. I feel we truly have reached the point past alternative hip-hop, just starting into post hip-hop.

u kinda almost have that happening now with artists like carti in the mainstream but id say it’s still more leaning toward that punk aesthetic than full on metal

The Money Store, Atrocity Exhibition, Some Rap Songs and this. This is a new classic in experimental rap, and honestly experimental music in general, that will stand as a sea change moment for outsider art looking back. RIP GROGGS.

I don't get why people seem to be so indifferent to Footwork In a Forest Fire. It sounds so much like Ritchie and Groggs are rapping over a deathdream album they downloaded off of the deep web. The beat definitely has the same incredibly cold and exposed vibe that Aboji's Reflection has.

Knees is one of my favorite songs this year. I also find the dense and suffocating atmosphere of the album so intruiging. I'm definitely going to be returning to this album for a while.

I dont care, 10/10 devastating album, feels like I was in pure grief. Footwork in a forest fire sound like a aphex twin death grips mashup. JUST GENIUS.

I just got around to listening to this album and on my first listen, I didn’t understand it at all, it was way outside my comfort zone and I couldn’t understand why anyone would ever listen to it, but then weeks went by and I couldn’t stop thinking about it, so I gave in and re-listened, and… it clicked hard. It made me feel feelings I didn’t even know I could possibly feel, and it’s one of the most devastating, tragic, and challenging albums I’ve ever heard, but I feel like I came out the other side stronger and gained something from listening to it. The insane experimentation is part of why it’s so good - no album with traditional instrumentals and sound palettes could make anyone feel like this album makes me feel. It’s not the type of album you listen to super often because it’s just that emotionally potent, but I respect it a hell of a lot and think it’s a major feat in hip hop history. RIP Groggs.

Putting aside all the countless things I have to say about this album, I think judging this album based on its "cohesion" is a little antithetical to what the album is going for. Death is a complicated thing, and dealing with grief is not a 'point A to point B' journey. It's often confusing and disorienting, and I think in that regard this album undoubtedly succeeds with what it's doing all the way through.

I was completely taken aback by this album. I really enjoyed their self titled album a lot, but I never expected this after that. I knew this was something special after the first listen and I've been hooked ever since. I'd say my favorite tracks are definitely Outside, Superman That, Top Picks for you, and Knees, with Knees being my absolute favorite.

From my knowledge, Zelooperz also sang many of the backing vocals on SS San Francisco, making his feature all the more impressive. Upon first hearing the "It won't last," I was thoroughly convinced Parker had just used a sample.

To be fair, along with Injury Reserve's previous work, abstract rap albums such as Some Rap Songs, A Quite Farewell 2016-2018 (Crater Speak), Let The Sun Talk, and Disco! had done a lot to push this genres evolution up to this point. Great video though!
