On a deeper note this shows why the school system fails kids. Randy was a born hustler. He had a great work ethic and a hustlers mentality. Things that are not taught in school. I wish he would have never got mixed up in that "Lex" drama. Dude would have definitely started his own buisness one day.
@gregorysmith1402
@gregorysmith1402 3 жыл бұрын
It’s little Kevin’s fault he got mixed up in that. He wasn’t even supposed to be involved in what happened to lex. He was just being himself hustling so yes you’re right! The school systems does fail kids! It doesn’t prepare them for life! Instead of punishing his hustling they should’ve showed him how to make a legit business or had him lead bake sales or something for money for the school…i remember older people told me how schools used to teach trades and so much more…sorry if my comment is too long lol

@@McGarthur yea, cause him telling on Marlo helped put his organization in jail and kept him in his foster home, every kid who gets in trouble in school should just go telling them about things that go on in streets they know nothing about instead of letting the principal call your foster mom and manning up to what you were involved in. I hear you, he's a kid, but he snitched alot about school stuff before that, he was just a snitch in general Yea he's a kid, and no other kids do that ever...he didn't even get locked up and he telling about stuff that's not even his business, that's why he didn't really know. It's the truth stop being so sensitive, he put himself in that situation for no reason. More than likely if that never happened he probably would've turned into a corner boy with Mike and Dukie and ended snitching anyway, my comment has nothing to do with any problems we have as a people, the only problem is your parasympathetic levels

@BiggityBoggity8095 8 ай бұрын
@@franciscvmpbellit’s like the banality of evil. She followed through with actions that ruined Randy’s life as a routine part of her job. She probably never thought about Randy again. School staff have no obligations towards parents or kids. If anything, kids are a liability for them, and parents are an obstacle. Their obligations are to the district. They’re only beholden to the district and their direct superiors, the kids and the parents are merely an inconvenience while trying to do their job. See things from her perspective. She’s basically running a business that’s stuck on the tits of a federal organization. Her concern is with passing the standardized tests so she can keep her job and the school doesn’t have to eat a budget cut. Kids like Randy are just a pain in the ass. It’s like if you’re trying to play a video game and a fly keeps landing on your face, that’s Randy. She was willing to put up with his bull shit as long as it wasn’t too serious. If order could be restored, she’d leave him alone and get back to her business. But then he gets involved with an alleged rape AND informs on a murder. That’s not something she can just deal with. She had to bring the police in on it. Then it became their problem, which means Randy was no longer HER problem, and that’s all she cared about. She probably wasn’t always that way. At some point there was a child she cared about. Someone whose future and success and well being meant the world to her, someone who she felt like a second mother for. But working in a jaded, corrupt, and impoverished system that’s rotten to its core, it changed her. Same thing with Bill Rawls. He probably joined the force because he wanted to make a substantial positive difference in his community. Then he realized that being a good human being actually hurts your standing with the department. So he became the Rawls that we saw in the show.

An embarrassed girl claims rape. Smdh. Also, this scene is indicative of the cruelty of justice systems particularly with the usage of leverage. A child in foster care a has already been through something very traumatic; to threaten him with the potential loss of that small shred of stability is horrific on a human level. ‘The Wire’ illuminates so much that’s wrong with our “systems.” It’s the most powerful type of fiction because it contains so much truth.

He also excepted the same amount from Kevin when he bought skittles from him and he told him to tell Lex to go the park and let Randy keep the change. "From a female" Well we know one guy who got his little heart broke and now is mysoginistic and terminally online. Women and men lie constantly, no.matter the sex or gender. It is a human trait. Herc, Bubbles, McNulty, Daniels, Carver, Stringer.. All of them told huge lies that got people killed, fired, exposed or careers and lifes ruined. But in the manospere only negative actions of women somehow count. So yes your comment is cringe and hypotical. How about you go and talk to one of these women and realise they are normal people and people like Tait are just out to scam you out of your money by selling access to worthless discord servers and attack your self worth? Interacting with real people will leave you happier and might even cure that mysogony bs.

@mrshadeed
@mrshadeed Жыл бұрын
Avon's entire family was in the game. He was born and bred to wear the crown someday. Randy couldn't rise up in rank while being labeled a snitch. What separated Avon and Marlo from the rest is they both honored the value of their word. When Randy got into a jam, he was willing to give up everything to get out of the fire.
