I was a Sr. fan and had been for years, but when Dale Jr flipped at Daytona in his first race in the #3 Busch car and he came out of the care-center and said "We still have a Championship to win" and he immediately became my driver in the Busch series. I was still a huge Sr fan, but Jr was kicking ass in the Busch series and winning those 2 championships made it easy because he was winning more than Sr at the time. Texas was my "home" track and in 2000, I had already bought a Dale Jr Bud jacket and there were already a hell of a lot of #8 Budweiser fans all over the place by then and that was only after a few races in 99 and six races into the season. He stomped the field that day and he had a huge lead at the end and a hell of a lot of fans were on their feet cheering for him every time he came by. To this day, that was my favorite memory of Jr winning a race that I attended and maybe ever (and I was in Daytona for Jr winning his first 500 and Talladega at some point) The 01 Pepsi 400 was pretty damned cool too though.

I've already got my ticket for "The Reunion" Hope to see ALL the original "Bud" crew at Florence! This will be a BIG night at Florence for Junior Nation, to get to re-live the "good ol' days." I think this will be as cool as the N. Wilks "revival" with Junior packing the stands. Nascar today can't do anything that can touch special moments like this..

We saw him start in the back at IRP and win in the AC Delco in 1998. In 2001 we saw him win at the fall race at Talladega.

I appreciate the iconically profound relationship of Budweiser and Dale Jr and the branding impact that remains to this day. However, I- and maybe I’m a flier- at nearly 60 years old and having actively “observed people” since I was 11 or so; I have a problem with our drinking culture in America . So many bad things have occurred while people are drunk whether dwi with a homicide- or several-, rape, fighting… statistically, other demographics equal, stuff happens under the influence of alcohol that doesn’t happen when not intoxicated. Never mind missing out on life for the six-pack or twelve-pack a night lifestyle. And for everything I mentioned above I was thinking of real people I know. So I’m not being mean by being critical, not being a judgemental jerk, but I wish we wouldn’t / didn’t promote alcohol. Humankind would do just fine- better- without alcohol, imho. I’m sure there’s plenty who will, ummm, be vehemently opposed to my opinion but maybe and I hope people think about the spirit of what I am saying and think about the positives that can be beneficial to our culture out of what I stated instead of just being a hater. I’m not a hater, so…

there arent many, if any season long sponsorships anymore...... that era is over
@fishhuntadventure11 сағат бұрын
Maybe. I think a high-value program with a very good negotiator-kind of a marketing exec on staff could create a relationship that could be season-long. I think the barriers are the overall cost of a season-long sponsorship and a lack of creating a mutual vision in our culture that has accepted facebook-quick in-and-out relationships. Commitment and true relationship matter less these days than association does: you can sponsor for one or a couple of races and the photos and diecasts live on well past the money being long-gone. Another significant factor is the “23XI effect.” The teams are expensive to run, so ‘they’ are more willing to accept short term sponsorship because they want to keep the doors open and the staff paid.

I been a fan of Dale Junior that I met him at Junior Motorsports in Mooresville North Carolina but it was to see him for first time but I always see a Budweiser eight up front at Daytona international speedway in Daytona Beach Florida but I'm be a true fan of Dale Junior but I got his autograph on my 2023 Dale Junior Hellmann's Mayonnaise number and my 2007 Budweiser eight/Elvis Presley number eight but when Dale Junior left Budweiser eight I was kinda sad when that happen when he went to a new team like Hendrick Motorsports in 2008 but hello Budweiser eight it's great to have a Budweiser eight back.

Second was not an option? Did he ever even win a championship? He was never consistent and didn't win a ton. He was above average but was no where near the talent of the greats of his era or his father. I love Jr. all around but that's the truth.
@joshuahyatt352720 сағат бұрын
He won 2 in xfinity and has multiple Daytona and talladega wins. How many do you have? And that’s the truth.

His father was the greatest nascar driver to ever live. You cannot compare him to that. Completely unfair. Jr won more races than most cup drivers ever do.
