This was great. I’ve been dieting and working out now for about 8 months. Started at 445 and down to 305. My goal is 220. Road has been tough because I didn’t do any cheat meals or refeeds at all but have been dying to do either at least once a week. I’ve gotten very disciplined in my nutrition but want more flexibility. A refeed per week is definitely the road im gonna take because it won’t set me back as much as a cheat meal could I believe. Thanks guys.

does a refeed or a cheatday or cheatmeal always have to be related to a diet or a caloric deficit??.you can do a cheatday or a cheatmeal because you want to and just want to have a day off from disciplined healthy eating and not count everything!!!!

Wow I’ve been doing that for so long I didn’t even know I was binge eating. I looked at it as having balance and enjoying food. I’m assuming because It works for me, I’ll cut all week and lose all the weight/water weight in 4-5 days.

a binge is only a binge if you call it one. It's got a negative connotation and you often go into autopilot/eat until you're sick. Enjoying junk food and stopping when satisfied isn't a binge

Nope the refeed is about a day or two a week where you eat a lot of carbs to speed up your metabolism and up your leptin levels not just pump up calories. its best not to eat the bad carbs like candy, cakes, cookies. eat carbs like pasta, bread, potatoes, pancakes and rice. this works and really helps when your cutting. A one day fast after a refeed is also good cause it can get you bk into ketosis faster. not everybody just eats a pile of junk. maybe not a good idea if your a binge eater and cant control yourself. but it does help when your weight loss is stalling out. my buddies the Hodge twins do this all the time and look at their bodies. but like they say DO WEVA THE F#CK YOU WANT!!!

@2:27 the guy doesn't have a clue. He thinks your body can add fat cells, which is bs. The body cannot add fat cells, the fat cells number is constant. The only difference between a fat me and a skinny me is the fat cell size. Dude needs to go back to school.

When doing a deficit then a refeed, does anyone know how drastic the cut should be in terms of calories? Let’s say I do a two week deficit and a one week re feed. Thank you. Goal is of course to loose body fat and not effect metabolism.

What if your refeed dont go far over yah usually daily calories? I’ve been about about 22-2500 cals daily for about 4 weeeks the feeders was just about 2500 cals

It shocks your body but you can only do it once every few months, everyday and it's straight back to morbidly obese for you

I've had heavy cheat days easy 8k calories. weight shoots up 8-10 water pounds next week I'm back to where I started. it sets me back 4-5 days since my weekly average is affected by the water weight

@Chris K right now I'm on a cut I started at 196lbs and my most recent weekly average was 184lbs. I'm 11 weeks in and have had two cheat days. One of them was on Superbowl Sunday and the other is tomorrow for my nephews birthday. So what's that 6 weeks? Honestly dude if you know you can get back on the wagon a cheat day won't hinder your progress. The biggest mental thing for me is seeing the scale the next day. I'm very disciplined and I know it's water weight but seeing that number climb hurts.

CLEAN refeeds are easy. Just add a bunch of fats for the extra calories. There is never a reason to eat bullshit processed foods. Not even on cheat or re feed days. Period.

Human beings are not machines, it's completely fine to incorporate junk food into your diet every now and again as long as you are in a calorie deficit the majority of the time. You telling people that they should never eat the foods they like is setting them up for complete failure in the form of all out binges once they reach the inevitable mental breaking point that comes with following a strict diet for a long period of time. I’ve been on 750 calories a day and once a week I go to 1150 roughly. I feel the refeed is necessary just to stop feeling dizzy for a while. Collapsed in the gym multiple times before I started doing refeeds, now I rarely hit the ground during workouts.

​@@LostBoyRichJ I competed once and during my second prep, I went on 1100 cals a day for 7 days + 1 hour of stairmaster on empty stomach everyday and I had to drop the prep as my body couldn't burn any more fat and remained at around 12%. My coach, Chris Gurunlian told me it's the first time I see something like this. We went all the way from 2k cals to 1100 and there was almost no difference, in fact, I lost a lot of muscle mass. I guess my metabolism was messed up at some point during the off season.

Dear lord please be joking. 750 calories is less than what a child needs to be eating. No doubt you collapsed in the gym. You should hire a nutritionist. I'm 5'8 and weight 155lbs and eating maintenance at 2100 and slowly going up
