Don't forget, when every other regional was turning down concessionary contracts, PSA pilots took concessions and screwed over every other regional airline in the industry. They are also having issues staffing their airplanes. You can't grow to 150 airplanes if you can't staff them.

The original PSA, Pacific Southwest Airlines was a great company.

Why do PSA pilots need to be leaders in their community? 4:19
@patrickkotyuk2056 жыл бұрын
It's an important part of working for any company, especially one that serves the community.

It's called having character and giving back to those who are to follow your footsteps.

It's called "working for free" just because they want the company to look better. I was in the Air Force and this shit was common. Never again will I be forced into such tactics by an employer.

So weird that Pacific Southwest Airlines flies no where near the Pacific or the southwest.

When promoted to captain do you retain your place as a line holder with rights to bid on jobs or do you go back to being "reserve"
@will90932 жыл бұрын
CA list is different than FO list so you sit reserve until you can hold a line-but in this hiring environment it won’t be for long

So this is a different PSA company from the one back in the 70s and 80s on the west coast.
@philmontejano59714 жыл бұрын
Yes a much worse one Original one was a great west coast airline. Absorbed by US Air.

What's the difference from Envoy and PSA?
@demoncat96626 жыл бұрын
They are different entirely owned subsidiaries of American Airlines.

I flew for PSA from 05-08 when I lost my medical. I work for FlightSafety now but I loved flying for PSA! A great airline indeed!

Michael Jackson why did you lose your medical?
@davidoliveros74976 жыл бұрын
Michael Jackson I’m sorry for your medical certificate loss. But if you allow me, how did you gain that color deficiency ? Cause you obviously passed the previous test. Sorry for all the questions.
@michae8jackson3786 жыл бұрын
David Oliveros that’s ok, as I mentioned, it was a medicine. Dr actually wrote a paper about me!? Lol I took a medicine for a different issue and the Drs believe that’s what brought it to light!

Michael Jackson that’s unfortunate, a medicine causing another problem?!! It’s messed up

PSA is a wholly owned subsidiary of American Airlines, formerly U.S. Airways and owns the rights to the PSA Airlines name, logo, etc. So, sort of... but not really

Airlines will continue to have shortages until they get their head out of their asses and actually train pilots instead of forcing them to pay for their own flight training OR actually pay their pilots what they're worth.
@J.A.M.I.L12 жыл бұрын
When you boost the pay up to at-least 230k for captain I’ll get a pilot’s license until than enjoy the shortage. 60k a year is a f*ckin joke
@TheFlyingZulu2 жыл бұрын
Yup... especially considering the effort it takes to get there. But they say you aren't a pilot for the pay... you're a pilot for the view.

It’s been upgraded to ~86K/year for 1st year First Officers. $96/hr with 75/hrs guaranteed per month. 96x75 = 7200 x 12 = $86400
