Have two of these, both very reliable. They fit perfectly in a single handcuff case that I carried when working as a security guard and not allowed to carry a firearm. Gladly never had to pull it out and test it in the real world as I certainly would have been fired on the spot. Great little gun, emphasis on little.

I'm familiar with this odd but elegant pistol. This gun was made in .22 Long because the frame is just a tad too short for .22 Long Rifle. Its unique in that its one of the only pistols made specifically in this caliber. Most .22 Long handguns are small revolvers like the Smith & Wesson #1 1/2 which are only safe with the .22 CB Long subsonic cartridges. The CB loads are too mild to work the slide correctly. The CCI .22 Long supersonic that is NOT marked CB is the only factory ammunition left that will work reliably in this pistol.

Could a "block" be inserted into the magazine shortening it plus provide a feed ramp like the Beretta 950 Minx in 22 short so it could run .22 short? With my 950B pistols I found that the frames are identical despite caliber. It is the magazine, slide and barrel that determine model and caliber.

No idea. Let me know if you try it.

It's not impossible, but not practical. The Bernardelli .22 Long chamber is deeper than the Beretta in .22 Short. The short rimmed case would be twice as likely to malfunction, fail to extract, eject or catch the ramp at that extended difference. The CCI .22 Long ammo is usually the same price as the CCI .22 Short, so there really isn't any economic advantage to such a conversion. I recommend leaving it as is. The only .22 Long Rifle handgun that will cycle anything and everything reliably are revolvers.
