Great review. I got mine back in December and it is by far the centerpiece of my own collection. No videos or photos do the thing the justice it deserves. In person it is just so impressive looking. It is a work of art. Not perfect but well worth the money I paid. I have no idea what people are thinking who have negative comments on it. They have to be clueless types. 😉 Considering that a pro built 1:35 scale military diorama that is only 12”x12” in size can run over a $1000 I can’t understand how anyone could expect a pro built 1/6 model on this level to cost less. I don’t know for sure but I would suspect Joost didn’t make a bunch of money off this Batmobile 66 project considering the obvious production cost and licensing cost. It had to be more a labor of love kind of thing for him. Thanks again for great review. It’s the best one I’ve seen to date.
@raysway1897 Жыл бұрын
Agreed on all counts! To be fair, the cost doesn't make sense to those who do not collect 1/6 scale figures. Paying $200-$300 for a 1/6 Batman puts it in perspective. And you are exactly right, videos and pics really don't do it justice. Thanks for watching!!!

I have to say, that is a beautiful piece of work!! I was guessing around £1,500 here in the UK so wasn't too far off. If I had room, would try and find one in an instant!! I work with car paints all week long and can soooo appreciate the time it takes to wet sand and polish something on that scale. For me the missed opportunities are just as you said... The circular saw out the front (Ala every 70's boys Corgi version) and the lack of a realistic 'filler' for the turbine exhaust... If someone has a file available I will happily 3D print one for ya!

Alot of orange peel in the paint it's not perfect by any means but man if it was in matt black that would have been awesome atleast you could lay down your own laqure with the airbrush and get the finish perfect! I'm just nit picking as this wouldn't pass inspection on a real vehicle I'd be told to wet sand it again and get the polishing compound on it

@@raysway1897 look where your trunk hinges are. They used Dremels gouging the line of the top of the trunk destroying the rim of the trunk area. Yours has it. The first batches didn't. The trunks wouldn't stay closed so they damaged the rim of the trunk to keep them lying flat and not popping up. Horrible solution that pissed off a lot of buyers. Many were sent back. Your body is damaged. Not cool. All the rest of them are like that. The trunk hinges are poorly designed. The first batches had a beautiful correct trunk rim and body separation. Yours is certainly of less value.
@raysway1897 Жыл бұрын
@tiffanykooper6989 thanks but it's not damaged. The indents for the hinges are even and smooth, and painted. In my video, the white or lighter color is the reflection of my shelf lighting off of the gloss paint.
