My favorite lenses for my a6700 is the Tamron 17-70mm f2.8 and the Sony 15mm f1.4.

For my current video kit I have the Sony 10-20mm, 20-70mm and 70-200mm lenses. They're all 'G' series and are f4. Having the same 'G' series lenses means that lens characteristics are the same between all three lenses. No color shifts or other lens anomalies show up between these lenses. Having consistency with lenses is important for any project. On a typical video shoot my 𝛼6700 will be set up on the gimbal with the 10-20mm. My FX30 will be on sticks with either of the longer lenses. This set up works great for the doc style shoots I tend to do. Being able to quickly transition between the wide gimbal and the telephoto tripod helps insure that a "moment" is not lost. Anyway, all three lenses are great. The 20-70mm and 70-200mm lenses are super sharp and have great bokeh. The 70-200mm is also a macro. I've been blown away with being able to do precise focus rolls in macro using the awesome focus system on these Sony cameras. Needless to say, I've been very happy with these three lenses. I guess my clients have been happy with 'em as well...they keep hiring me back!

I think further explanation is necessary especially for beginners. I for example switched from zooms to primes and couldn’t be happier. Maybe title it as the best zooms? 🤔

I never used 3rd party primes until I purchased my Sigma 16mm f1.4. Effectively, a 24mm lens on a 2/3 APSC camera. For me, the perspective is perfect. I use it for family gatherings, parties, street photography, etc. I do need a mid-range zoom, so one of the lenses reviewed may be my next buy?

Hi, I learned a lot from the videos on this channel, is there a significant difference in the perspective of a person's face for portraits, when we use a special APS-C lens compared to using a full-frame lens on the A6700?
@TheCameraManReviews3 ай бұрын
Great question, and the simple answer is no. As long as you take into account the 1.5 crop ratio of an APSC lens in both the focal length and Aperture, then you will not notice hardly any difference. Hope this helps.

@@TheCameraManReviews thnks for the answer man, maybe one day I want to try the a7c2, so I can invest in choosing a full frame camera first to use on the 6700, tq so much 🙏🏻

@@balasbudi Think of the extraordinairy picture quality with the new generation of cell phones. That's mean the smaller will get better and better quality in APS-C or 4/3 format. They are already professional quality.

Thank you for the video. While I mostly shoot full frame lenses and bodies I have these three lenses as my zooms on my APS-C A6700. The Sigma were chosen for their light weight and image quality. Then I have three primes I also use on my A6700. Very straight forward video and I like your video on the Sigma 10-18mm DC DN. Take care.

How about a video on APS-C primes for the A6700. Need a great prime in the 23-35mm range that will give me a 35-50mm focal full frame focal range. I already own the Sony E 15/1.4 G for the wider angles. Any recommendations?

very nice video. You don't talk shit like other youtubers, like "anamorphic is essential lens with this camera" or a lot of unusefull primes; becouse, the TRUE is (for videography) prime lens are usless and the 2.8 it's what you need. So, very usefull video, 3 lens and you can do everything !

Interesting. I had both the Sigma 18-50 and the Sony 16-55G. Sold the Sigma as it was not a patch on the Sony.
@RandumbTech6 ай бұрын
I have both as well and the Sony is so much better than the Sigma in every way - sharpness, focal range, IBIS performance, etc. The only benefit to the Sigma is the size and weight, but it's not like the 16-55 is massive so it's well worth the trade-off. Sony cameras work best - especially in video mode - with Sony lenses.

I agree with the Sigma 10-18mm f2.8 and the Sony 70-350mm f4.5-6.3 G OSS but I disagree with the Sigma 18-50mm f2.8 DC DN. The Sony 16-55M f2.8 G is a much more complete lens than the Sigma 18-50mm f2.8 DC DN. better sharpness better focus, better construction, better sealing better focal range. The only advantage of the Sigma is the size/weight and price, which is obviously a very important reason for many colleagues.
