This is 100% me , currently still working on my defense ....i can learn combos no problem at all but what good is it if you're constantly getting hit and can't even get your combos off? Learning defense is boring to people so they won't put the same time into it as they do their offense (Which i was doing) but then get mad at their outcome in matches , you have to be committed to defense like your offense

@@sny_guy I know because i was that guy Lol , but now i'm currently learning anti-air combos that lead to heavy damage instead of just uppercutting or holding block in that situation, as well as making full use of playback recording which is huge....learn a few strings from a different character and set it up on playback recording to help work on defense, i didn't want to take the time to do all those things at first.

How can you have fun when if you make a single mistake, end of match. It's not about " get good " it's about stupid mechanics. I mean, there are times when instead playing, most of the times I sit there and watch the opponent doing endless combo. It's all about who can make the first hit or first mistake. Very sad and boring this way. That's another reason why many people don't play it or just give up

I was actually expecting more about upblock and flawless block. I love how you can activate flawless block every hit of a string or specials. Not only where there are gaps but everytime. Helps a lot against the current cyrax chip meta. Also you could talk about the kameo reversal moves that go through strings like Laos spin

Old Mk player but New to playing MILEENA, so far i use sub-zero and Sareena for her kameos. Only thing i dont understand is how to keep a constant pressure on people for her mix ups. GREAT VIDEOS HOMIE THIS HELPS!

I have +1000 hours with Cassie in MK11 and I can't tell you how much I miss her b3 antiair.. Now I'm playing with Kitana in mk1 but her anti airs don't feel as good as Cassie b3 :/ strings and combos feels slow and game a bit unpolished but lets hope it gets better! great video!

Actually "fuzzy guarding" is something i want to get better at, I did indeed became better with mileena by imagining what opponent can do to me. But I think, the most important thing is - humans brain sometimes dictates to us, how we should use our tactics, and they sometimes happen again. So what i mean by this if we remember what opponent has done to us countless times, we can use tactic to punish this, we just need to remember what they are doing to us, this also quite freqently happens at the start of a match. So I recommend doing diffrent things, if you don't want to get punished. 😊

I duck a lot on grab read but did not really automate my delay block to not get hit by anything else. :) That makes lot of sense and give some sort of safety on duck (and need reaction for grab). Sometimes on read I duck the high and interrupt the string with S1 but that is not as valueable as duck os. :)

Please do not forget that Kameeos could give you benefits for special cancle... Ex: Shang Tsung's F434 has no special cancle, but if you did Sonya's square wave attack (air normal hits) you can continue juggling on the same string with Shang F434.

The real issue is defending yourself against opponents who use sneaky, unreactable lows and unpunishable safe attacks... I'm referring to Smoke, Raiden, Geras, and Baraka for example...

Mileena's down 1 anti air fails me sometimes. it doesn't feel like how mk11 mastered the D1 anti air hit/hurt box. It feels kinda off on Mk1. Also when the opponent jumps over your head, your character takes another second to actually turn around and the D1 doesn't hit properly, the game feels clunky there. Also nice combos on your Mileena!

Stand blocking against mileena will always be more beneficial but if you are having trouble, practice blocking against her strings in practice mode!

This is a good question. When that happens to me, I am more likely to poke or jump. It is very tough to fuzzy when it comes to stagger pressure.

@sny_guy sup man, tekken dude here again. Man I was looking for this!!! Option selects and fuzzies, def going to lab all the other characters and see what cheese and abusable strings they use. But the empty duck into delayed block is something that il definitely use. But what mu does it not work in? coz I see lui kang is blessed with 10f and 12f mids while johnny got 9f and10f mids. Is the timing alot tighter against them when delaying the block or do you just block alot more in these match ups? Also can you make a video of your flow charts? Like getting in range for pressure-to pressure till you get a luanch and then after the oki situations? Still figuring out the neutral. Coz whenever I start with pressure it just fizzles out and i lose my turn and momentum which in turn messes up my decision making. Thanx again.

I wouldn’t try to duck OS with Johnny, but Liu is fine! Turns get lost VERY easy in this game. Because of how negative everything is. Kameos will keep your pressure up. I’ll def look into making a solid flow chart vid! Appreciate you checking out the content for sure!

i’m semi new to mk, but i’ve put a lot of work in to learn my combos and best strings. I played my first few online matches yesterday and really really struggled with people just mashing buttons. I couldn’t find gaps and when I unblocked to try and punish, they were already hitting me again… any tips?

Depending on who you play, start your approach with mid attack strings over the high strings. This will interrupt your opponents attempt to mash. You can also try back dashing when you feel like it’s your turn into a string to avoid the mash and punish!

Agreed, however backdash in this game is not a reversal option so it takes up a few frames that sometimes people poke mash you out.... shouldn't be like this but in 11 we didn't have that issue...backdash and throw in reversal not only special moves

Hey appreciate the love! Thanks for supporting the videos. I would def say Kung Lao and Goro are great fits for Mileena. It depends on if you want to zone or pressure! I prefer Lao but need more games with Goro to really judge fairly!

@sny_guy stryker grenades and overhead also seems good and could be comparable to goros tools while also having restands. Keen to see your thoughts on him at some point as well after seeing greg and honeybee showing him off with reptile

@@AsadKhanFour it’s funny you say that because I actually used Stryker first with mileena but I didn’t like him because I think I didn’t really understand the game fully. He def is worth another look.

Instead of kung lao for that low mixup use frost then you get a full combo punish when the opponent expects the default overhead follow up 😜

@@sny_guy true. I replayed the story mode with tanya and khameleon to see what her moves would be. Seems like she will have ball roll, kitanas fan lift, and a dive kick. Im excited to use mileena with an extra ball roll and fan lift. Khameleon is gonna be a combo beast

I notice some of my main struggles are if a character has a fast ass poke my best solution is a throw but doesn’t always work..I also struggle hitting a wake up attack when I’m getting rushed down

@@mikealan4412 mid attacks are the best way to go! Ashrah and Geras have greats ones. Those attacks will destroy pokes. Back dashing also helps as well, and puts the opponent in a really bad spot.

When you go to settings there’s an option for 4 slots to make them to a string you can record. Do those two then set playback to hidden random!

I wanna make sure I understand regarding duck OS: are you reacting to your opponent's starting animation to block? Or this is an automatic timing you're using like on your wake up/at minus frames?

If you are fighting a specific character the timing will become automatic but you are essentially reacting to movement tho. Good players will walk you down to force you to block but don’t block till you see action!

@sny_guy I'm bios because I played MKX way more but I started in 9, personally I think X was better because it was a bit broken but not mk9 broken. Smoke, Cyrax, Johnny and Kenshi were completely ridicelous in that game, it had random frame data... so a move could be -6 or plus 15 and there was no way to know unless you pressed and you'd either poke out if you got lucky with the frames or get hit for half your health and be put back into the same situation on repeate. Cyrax and Smoke both had a 1 hit - death combo that was unblockable you couldn't do anything but breaker. Kenshi was a ridicelous zoner he had probably the most solid 9-1 matchups in that game where you genuinely couldn't win unless the kenshi fucked up bad. If you want to play just a completely cracked out fighting game mk9 is the way to go. If you want fast pace, and a bit of cracked play X.

If you go to the you tuber fight all thy enemies you tube page and hear his opinions about mk1 there is no defense in mk1 because the combo breaker move is broken your only allowed to break one combo each match if in killer instinct you can break a combo as many times as you want it should be the same way in mk1 the game is to heavily dependent on combos to win the games were definitely better when john tobias was still around

Ummmmmm 🤔. You lost me at no defense??? You can def combo break more than once a match when defense is being played. You build meter by hitting a blocked opponent.

@sny_guy It may build up meter when the other player blocks but it builds up to slowly the other player can do a 50% to 90 % combo on you before you even get a chance to do a second breaker facts are this game was broken on day one of the full release and modes were missing and there's still bugs in invasion mode as well they should have never charged 70 for this trash kameo characters actually break the game if it wasn't for kameo characters we wouldn't have all these high hitting combos and the game would be more fair ed boon can fix the game as much as he wants but it will never be a fair game unless he tones down the combos I've supported mk from the very first game but I won't support this trash
