The Best $30 4RUNNER Safety Upgrade!

This was probably the very first upgrade I did to my 4Runner. Probably the best bang for your buck upgrade one could do. $30 changes a whole lot!!

LOL - love the "real-life" clip. I changed the reverse light bulbs with LED's on my 4R and I did drop the bulb into one of the taillight housings.... needless to say I had to take the taillight off the truck and shake the taillight around trying to get the bulb to drop out of the hole... well 30 mins later and very frustrated - I gave it to my neighbors 10 year old, who was amused watching me, and he had it out in 30 seconds....

Ah man, I knew there was a real risk of that happening hahah. The reason I mentioned it was because I almost did the same thing. The bulb was barely holding on by the time I got it out of the drivers side housing. They aren’t clipped on there very tight are they

I had one drop in the fricken light tonight. It was probably closer to and 1 hour to get both done. I shook the crap out of the light. I never did see the bulb come out and never found it on the floor. I’ll check again tomorrow. I had some utensils in the opening and didn’t find the bulb. Finally said F-it and put the bulb in and back on the 4Runner. Such an easy job that went south quick. I’m still flipping the coin if I want to replace the silver valances.

I installed the Lastfit led headlights bulbs on my 2017 Highlander limited I took them out when traded for my 2020 4R limited and installed them in the 4R always a huge difference

Looks like I already had two extra T15 bulbs from a previous upgrade we did on our RV. These LED 921 T15 bulbs also worked great on my 2020 Toyota 4Runner TRD Off-Road Premium. Thank you for the info 👍

Just did this on mine. Damaged the plastic holder and it popped off inside the housing. Magnet works to get it out.

i like my tail as turn adapter so I can use the old blinker spot for an extra reverse light with a massive led bulb in there. not quite like reverse headlights but man does it feel close.

Good brand.... Have had all my running lights and reverse lights swapped to lasfit. Only had one brake light failure in 4yrs. Funny "real life" scenario...😂

After watching this I bought the bulbs which arrived just after sunset by Amazon. I got the first bulb installed in like 2 minutes total. When I was pulling the other bulb out of the light the bulb came off and fell in the light. I spent at least 20 minutes trying to fish it out. This did not work. I eventually pulled the tail light off the 4Runner and took it in my garage which had lighting. Still couldn’t fish it out and started shaking it. The bulb fell out which I was 100% sure of. Another 15 minutes looking for the bulb and I said F it. Reinstalled the tail light and found the bulb on the garage floor about 8 feet away from where I was a few days later. What an easy job that went haywire.

It seems to be a newly updated bulb that should be compatible. If you put the vehicle as a 2020 4runner it says it’s compatible, if you try a 2018 4runner it says it’s compatible. For some reason when I enter 2019 it says incompatible, but there is absolutely no difference with that particular year. This leads me to believe it’s just an error in the way they entered the information into Amazon and that you should be fine to order this one. I will send them an email tomorrow to clear up the confusion and fix their Amazon listing.

For safety, if you’re alone testing reverse lights don’t turn the car on. Ignition on without cranking and shift to reverse. Of course keep e brake on but at least motor won’t be trying to push it back. Getting ran over by an unmanned vehicle isn’t worth it

Why is there a warning on Amazon saying this bulb DOES NOT FIT my 2019 Toyota 4Runner?

Cause lasfit screwed up when they listed the product on Amazon. If you enter any other year it seems to work. There is no difference between a 2019 and say a 2017. I’ve emailed Lasfit but they haven’t fixed it yet. Sorry for the confusion
