How often is this applied, my 4runner was a northern car and now lives in FL. I like to stop/slow some of the rust

can and should i put fluid film on the calipers when i do the brake job? does the rust matter or will fluid film just collect debris. or should i sand blast them and paint them or should i not worry about it and do nothing? im a car novice and appreciate your channel. I am learning a lot and have done multiple things that i never wouldve tried. you took the fear of doing my own work away. i always assumed it was difficult but its really just common sense. thanks!!

@@donphillips4492 Hey Don, Happy to hear you’re taking on your own maintenance. As for the calipers, I’d personally just leave them. You don’t want fluid film on your brakes and you’re right, it will collect more dirt and dust

Is a limited slip additive ever needed on a 4Runner? Do any have LSD? ALSO..is 75W-90 GL-5 also ok to use?

Keep that these are worse than the at3 in the snow. I love my at3 on my 4runner now. Loved them on my tacoma as well. Looking forward to the new redesigned duratrac rt.

Hey I’ve been watching your videos for a while, I was wondering if you’ve ever come across some lights come on,on your 4Runner. I have a 2018 Toyota 4Runner sr5. And do you have any idea how to fix it. The lights are ABS, BRAKE, Traction control light They come on and then turn off.

Hi mate, I’d really appreciate your input on this. About three weeks ago, while I was out guiding, my car suddenly wouldn’t start. The battery is relatively new-only five months old-so I was quite surprised. I ended up waiting for roadside assistance to jump-start it. Afterward, I took the car to AutoZone, where they tested the battery and confirmed it was in good condition with no issues. However, during a second test (where they had me rev the engine to 2,500 RPM), they found that the alternator wasn’t producing enough voltage-13.8V instead of the required 14.5V. Everything seemed fine until this week, when I had another issue while guiding. After some off-road driving to reach remote beaches requiring 4x4, I experienced the same problem. Fortunately, I had decided to buy a battery jumper as a precaution after the first incident. It worked as expected, but after starting the car, I noticed a strange noise (which I captured on video). I’m considering two possible causes: The serpentine drive belt might need attention. The alternator might need replacing. Is there a way I can send you the video? I’ve searched online but haven’t found anything similar. For reference, the car is a 2016 Trail model with 120,000 miles on it. Thanks in advance for your help!

Not sure if this applies to all models. However on the door lights, if you look really closely at the cover, you might see a small triangle arrow pointing to which side to place the pry bar. Hope this helps someone.

Replacement at 100k miles is not part of Toyota's service schedule for a 5th gen. It only says to inspect at 60k miles and then every 15k after that. It does not advise preventative replacement at a specified interval.

A transmission Flush does just as good a job vice the cleaning of the magnets...Dropping that pan every time you do this process crates the risk of leaks around that pan.

This video showed up in my feed today, so I’ll chime in. If you have the halogen high beam + DRL; VLEDS has a plug & play kit that gives you both LED high beam and dimmed LED DRL. On my 2022 with LED low/high projectors, the DRL remains halogen. I turned off the DRL function, then installed VLEDS 9005 bulbs, added a 9005 harness and toggle them off my Switch Pros panel. You could use any switch panel or a separate switch, but this gives you an amazing supplemental high beam.
